*cries* bye bye Bioware, and Pandemic

While this is my first blog post, and since I don't really like posting in blogs specially here since it has to be about gaming, I ask people to look past my......bad grammar and just get to the jist of what I write.

It is a Sad day when EA acquires a Dev but no more a sad day then this. 2 of my favorite Developers are now owned by EA one of the worst companies their is, widely known for purchasing a dev then mercilessly doing the following things.

1.Buy off all talent then sink the developer name.
2.Absorbing the talent, and developer name into its strict development structure.
3.Working the Dev so hard that all talent leaves and thus leaving them to harvest the IP's.
4.Working the developer so hard that all talent stays but any game from that talent pool sucks forever and thus.

Really it is sad, I cannot think how the other devs, and system builders let this happen. I alteast would think that at some point sony, ninty, microsoft or other big devs would be like HELL NO That ain't happening on my watch but now all we have are regrets regrets that Bioware and Pandemic will no longer create good games.....But as I ponder this and the business type article I currently read on the transaction I thought....it might be a good thing....EA put up around 850m dollars for both devs thats alot of money even for EA in the monopolistic crap factory that it is, Maybe they will screw things up like they all ways do, Maybe they will mishandle both devs so badly that neither will net them much profit....IMAGINE IT! EA could start hemoraging studios to stray afloat....Maxis...westwood...Could become independent again....Or another dev in the industry could aquire them....Or *though god forbid i don't want people to lose jobs, but then again people at EA would probably be happy for it to die* EA could go bankrupt and have to sell off all its IP's and Devs and such to the highest bidder.....

I think that most gamers would rejoice because Before a time when microsoft *to sonyfanboys whom think it is a monopoly in the game industry* EA was here monopolizing all sorts of IP's Hell they Monopolized the NFL so no one could use it....But I think It wont happen some how EA will do something smart and make massive profit from both companies.....But deep inside I know this is the last we have seen of a good Bioware, or Pandemic game.

I don't know, I think the guys at BioWare are too smart to let EA mishandle them. I think if worse comes to worst, they'll just leave. I honestly don't think that BioWare is capable of making a bad game. Not unless everyone leaves the company and EA makes a game using BioWare's name, then they could suck. But I think actual BioWare fans would follow the news enough not to fall for it, and EA would lose in the long run. Either way, I agree with you that EA sucks and I'm very sad that they bought BioWare/Pandemic. Hopefully it won't turn out as bad as we expect it to.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit19d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing19d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9219d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
