Edge of Eternity.

I have to admit, I have been quite impressed with most of the indie games I've played in the past year or so, but there have been a couple of exceptions. I bought Dragon Fantasy: Book I and II when it went on sale a while back, but I never made it to Book II.

The problem could be with me, since I have been beginning to feel like I've reached the point of saturation with jrpgs, for some time now, and even Western, indie, knockoffs, have a difficult time resonating with me at this point.

The problem could also be that I hold new games to a different standard than old ones. I'm all for retro throwbacks, but Dragon Fantasy, despite being parody based, is every bit the game it's making fun of, complete with tedious grinding, and unforgiving spikes in difficulty. I think a retro tribute is a nice thing, but it's also nice if the devs try to do something a little different, to set their game aside from the ones they're tributing.

Edge of Eternity has been on my radar for a while now. The name has a nice ring to it, and the graphics look pretty impressive for an indie title. However, here's hoping Midgar Studio hasn't fallen into the same trap as The Muteki Corporation.

The game looks nice, and it looks like a great deal of time and effort has gone into it. However, the question remains, whether it will stand out, or simply be another retro throwback, with all the same elements as the games of old, but half the charm.

By the sounds of things, some serious effort has been put into the story, but again, a jrpg clone with an emphasis on story is hardly an original concept. Hopefully the combat is solid, and there's enough going on in the gameplay department, to hold me over, which is a tall order for anything that resembles a jrpg, at this point in time, but not an impossible one.

What do you think of this upcoming Kickstarter title? Are you excited for it? Are you cautiously skeptical, like I am? Were you unaware it even exists? Leave your comments below.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
