After the let downs of Fallout3 and New Vegas, you should have known you were in for a failure with Skyrim on the PS3. This is why I bought the 360 version.

Yep, I shelved the game as well. Too manys glitches, and too much lag. It was a fun game with a lot to do, but not worth the frustration. I don't think I'll buy a game from Bethesda again, they have let me down too many times.

I'd say this generation, with the across-the-board implementations of online play and downloadable content, has officially ushered in the era of "business first, quality second" gaming. It started with Xbox LIVE last gen, and it's now seen on all platforms.

The gaming industry is too big now, with huge publishing houses that care only about DLC, profit margins, subscribers, subscriptions, taking advantage of budget gamers looking for used games...

Gaming is all about business, scheduling, timing, baked-in DLC, get-it-out-the-door-sooner-so- people-will-buy-it-now-and-aga i n-in-the-future attitudes.

Yeah, there are a few stragglers, mostly some development houses with older staffers and vets from previous generations that still have high quality game ideas and innovations and good story writing, but not a lot. Give it another few years, and there will be barely any dev houses that haven't been snatched up, poisoned and diluted by large profit-hungy publishers.

Skrim absolutely blows on PS3. It's a well-known fact. All my friends complain constantly and sometimes stop playing for weeks at a time because it's demoralizing and disheartening to pay 60 dollars for a game that consistently bashes you over the head with game-breaking bugs, ranging from clipping, physics glitches (I think the giant sending you into the stratosphere is a glitch, but bethesda isn't bothering to fix it because everyone think's it's funny for some damned reason), to story glitches, NPC scripting errors...it's all there, all the time. One thing or another.

I don't care WHAT this "new" engine is called. It's the same damned engine since 2006 with crap piled onto it and a few new lines of code and a new name. It sucks. Kill it, please.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
