I don't know if I'm the only one that has noticed a connection between the logos and games in Resident Evil since 4 came out. Resident Evil 4's logo had a hook at the end of it. If you can remember when it was Resident Evil 3.5 the enemy in the game was a ghost man that carried a metal hook on a chain that he would hit Leon with. Resident Evil 5's is a little more obvious as it was written in text that looked like lava because the final boss battle took place in a volcano. And I think the logo for Resident Evil 6 reveals alot.
First off most people have said the stringy pieces holding the logo together look like spider webs. While that's what I had originally thought I looked at the trailer carefully and when the soldiers get covered in that infected goo it has a stringyness to it reminiscent of the logo. Like when the soldier is holding his hand out to the screen, pause it as soon as he's covered in slime and you'll see how it looks like webs on him. This could still mean that it involves spiders like some have theorized but it seems really far fetched to me.
And then I was wondering why they would choose purple as the color for the logo. I spent time thinking back to what was purple in past installments and came to a simple conclusion, the G-Virus. Remember the cases of the G-Virus from the beginning of Resident Evil 2 and you'll remember they were all purple. And that also makes sense in context to the trailer. If what IGN says is true the girl who accompanies the ex-mercenary is Sherry Birkin from Resident Evil 2. Her father not only created the G-Virus but she was infected with it during the game allowing for a great story element. But now think back to William Birkin when he transformed. Remember how the G-Virus gave him that weird extra eyeball? Now watch the trailer and look at the enemy with tons of eyes, it could be a spider-man making the web logo true, but he could have also been infected with the G-Virus causing more eyes to sprout like on William.
If what I said is true then it seems Resident Evil 6 is trying to make close ties to Resident Evil 2. So that's my theory on Resident Evil 6's plot. But what do you guy's think? Let me know!

PS: "Capcom continues to knock it out of the park with its latest game, the very well-received Resident Evil Requiem.
The horror action game launched just before the weekend on 27th February 2026, and its first few days on the market appear to have been very strong indeed.
The data for physical UK sales has come in, and while it represents only a small percentage of the overall picture, it may be indicative of broader trends; we suspect Requiem has done extremely well."
Congratulations to Capcom, Standalone RE9 sales are in the top spot and the Switch 2 Generation Pack is #3! Very impressive! The split for standalone version are PS5 54%, PC 36%, Xbox 6%, Switch 2 4%. I think they separate the sales of Generation pack and standalone for Switch 2.
