Let me start off by saying that I'm a recently converted PC gamer who has moved to the dark side of the console world. My cpu died and for about the price of building a new high end PC plus monitor I could buy all 3 next gen consoles, so thats what I did. Its been a good transition but the one thing that boggles me is why the mouse and keyboard hasn't caught on in the console world. See I believe that these things can go together and have a wonderful relationship and bring console gaming to the next level. Wireless mice and keyboards are now cheap and easy to hook up so why such a fervent response anytime I mention this to people.
I want to tell you a story right quick about a friend of mine. I went to his house and he was playing oblivion on his 360. It was the first time I seen the game on a console and I simply said to him "damn this game needs a mouse and keyboard" He then told me that there was no way on earth he would put a mouse and keyboard in his house taking up space and looking like crap on his entertainment center. I then looked around and saw a guitar hero and rock band plastic guitar as well as a plastic drum set. So I snapped and said YES YOU WILL NEVER GET LAID IF YOU HAVE A MOUSE AND KEYBOARD IN YOUR LIVING ROOM!!
The point of all this is this. We are in the age of the peripheral. From guitars and drums to vision cams so geeks can play card games on or whatever else they do on those things.
People like to say to me, Hey man this ain't no PC. This is a console. To those people I say, take a look inside that console of yours. With hard drives, wireless internet, we browsers, webcams etc.. these things are PC's.
Now lets face it. Alot of games just don't work great without a mouse and keyboard. FPS I think have done fine. They have slowed the game down to make them play pretty well with a gamepad, but the fact is they still had to slow the games down. All in all I'm ok with it and believe it or not prefer fps with a gamepad.
My main grip are RPG's and RTS games. Everytime I hear of a RTS coming to console I cringe. I always here this, This game is the best RTS yet to figure out how to use the gamepad. It makes me crazy because it never works. Just think we could have Starcraft 2 coming to the consoles if we used mouse and keyboard. I remember when Blizzard tried to make Starcraft ghost I believe it was called. Well they could never make it work and I do believe it was because of the gamepad. Let me tell you if Blizzard can't do it then nobody can.
These games are now cluttered with menu's and such that really take you out of the game. Switching weapons, spells and the like now make you jump into a menu and stop the flow of the game and this people we cannot accept. This is my crusade and I'm looking for crusaders. Join me on my quest to get the mouse and keyboard on our consoles. I don't want it to be just mouse and keyboard. If people want to play with the gamepad on alot of these games I'm fine with that. I'm looking for the option thats it. We need to force these devs and console makers to make it happen. Sony I'm looking at you here. You are behind lets face it. Make this your thing. You have an open platform here. Just think you guys could even bring World of Warcraft over to the PS3. Then I'd be willing to bet people would jump on the mouse and keyboard revolution. The MMO space is dying to get in on the console market and this would make it such an easy transition. Blizzard and Sony could = WIN!
Now I know what some of the response will be. UT3 you can use a M n K. Yes I know 1 game on the "next gen" systems allow M n K. Its not enough. It is time for all the people who want to game like gaming is meant to be to band together and fight for this. PC gaming for alot of people has just become to much to keep up with even though I love it dearly. Come with me fine folks and lets get this done. You have accepted the fact that you can have plastic guitars and drums in your living rooms so what the hell lets throw a mouse and keyboard onto the pile and complete the circle

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.
The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.
Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.
15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.
These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse

Being a PC gamer AND a PS3 owner I agree with you on alot of things. I've been playing on consoles longer than PC's so I'm used to gaming on consoles more so. I actually prefer FPS with controls moreso just because it's slower. However games like RPG's and RTS's are completly superior on PC's. Certain things which seem like luxeries for this generation of consoles like downloading games to your harddrive, patches/updates, and webbrowsers have always been on PC's to begin with.
I'd really like it if all games were KB/M compatible(even though I prefer the gamepads mostly) and at the rate things are going now, I wouldn't be surprised if the next Playstation is literally a laptop.
