This generation of consoles has seen some pretty amazing titles released onto the market. But not all are created equal.
Here are the best so far:
-Grand Theft Auto 4 (PS3/360) [Metascore: 98]
Welcome to Liberty City... Again. You'd think that returning to the city where it all started would feel like a rehash, but that's not the case. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that this game redefines the open world genre. No other game before it has created a world so alive and so engaging. Just be warned. The biggest price tag for partaking in the adventure is your social life. Welcome back to Liberty City, things will never be the same...
-Uncharted: Drakes Fortune (PS3) [Metascore: 88]
Wanna see the new Indian Jones movie (hits May 22)? Well cool, so do I, but did you know that I've already "played" it. Well not exactly (of course), but this is the closest thing in gaming I've played that is able to grab the flair and excitement of a summer blockbuster. The awesome story, great game play and stellar graphics are just icing on the cake, baby!
-Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction (PS3) [Metascore: 89]
Not trying to sound cliche, but this game is something that needs to be seen in motion to appreciate. Like Uncharted, this game comes closer to replicating the look of a movie more so than anything I've ever played before. I swear its near Pixar like graphics make my jaw drop every time. This RPG/Third Person Shooter/Platforming Adventure game needs to be bought by everyone... now.
-Super Stardust HD (PSN) [Metascore: 84]
To quote IGN "Additively satisfying mechanics, great visuals and tactical yet simplistic design. In truth, and I say this as a heavy duty "Geometry Wars" player myself, Super Stardust HD is not only just as good as Bizarre Creation's it's in many ways better. "
-Mass Effect (360) [Metascore: 91]
This games stops just short of redefining the RPG genre as a whole. Its game play mechanics are revolutionary on all levels and It's story is one of the most involving narratives this generation. Play this at all costs.
It should be noted that the order these titles are presented in do not define which is better than the other. That I leave up to you, the reader. All I am saying is that as of right now, if you were only going to buy 5 games this generation, these should be it.

Not a bad personal list. I'm always the black sheep on this but I liked Blast Factor much more than Super Stardust. There have been some really killer handheld games as well and some Wii games but like I said your list is cool too ^^
I tried to get into Mass Effect, but personally I hated the game. Primarily the game play mechanics were terrible, I liked the dialog trees though. Plus with Keith David and Seth Green voice acting, I could not take the story seriously. I kept expecting Keith David to say; "Navy Accelerate your Life!". Just kidding, he is the narrator in those Navy commercials.
Your list sucks bro. GTA4 doesn't deserve a spot, neither does Ratchet or Super Star Dust.
You're forgetting Super Mario Galaxy, COD4, and Bioshock, among many many others.
Nice list Squallsoft. Although I haven't played Mass Effect, I always wanted to. Might actually get a chance when it's released on the PC. :)
CoD4 definitely should've made that list.
