Yes, I am a fanboy. I said it. I’m a fanboy. But not a Sony fanboy, or a Microsoft fanboy. No… it’s not like that. I’m a Final Fantasy fanboy. I do not allow brand names to dictate where I spend my gaming dollars, I go where my favorite titles are headed.
Back in the 90's, I owned a Super Nintendo. Why a Super Nintendo and not a Sega Genesis you ask? Well, because Final Fantasy was on the Super Nintendo. And i stuck with Nintendo throughout that entire generation because thats where i could play all my favorite games.
Then came the Nintendo 64 and the Playstation. For awhile, I was planning on buying a Nintendo 64 (i eventually did years later). At the time I assumed Final Fantasy VII would be released on that platform. Then came the news that Squaresoft (SquareEnix) was moving over to Sony's new system. I had no choice but to jump ship and buy a Playstation. Most of my friends at the time told me I was a bandwagon jumper but to tell you the truth, i didn't care. Like I said before, I go where my favorite games are.
Then came the Gamecube, Playstation 2 and Xbox. Well you can only imagine which one of those I bought.
I hope you all can see a trend here. I didn't switch over to Sony because they are.. well.. Sony. I switched over because thats where my favorite games went. People need to stop caring about which company makes which system and start caring more about the games. If your favorite games are coming out on 360, then, hell, buy a damn 360 and forget about what the Sony or Nintendo fanboys in your circle of friends think. Same goes with the other systems.
I think that the problem this generation is people are getting to caught up in sales numbers and buying trends. Who cares what the NPD says. It doesn't matter. Go play some good games and have fun. Isn't that what our great hobby is all about?

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.
The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.
Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.
15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.
These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse

I would've gotten a PS3 (because it has GTA and Gran Turismo) But I couldn't afford it and got a Wii instead. I love Mario and Metroid games, but MAN why does PS3 have to be $500? So I ask you: What do you do if you're torn between 2 systems but can only afford one?
Yeah I'll go one step further. I'm a Square Enix fanboy ;) Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, Act Raiser, The World Ends With You, Front Mission, Crystal Chronicles, etc. It's all good
Same case for me, but with Metal Gear Solid, among some other games. The reason I prefer Sony most of the three really is that their first-party studios are the best in the industry, and their game libraries are always well-rounded. You can't really deny that.
With that said, if I saw an article tomorrow confirming MGS for Xbox 360, I wouldn't care. All it would mean to me is that more people get to enjoy my favourite game series as well. There really is no point in arguing over such trivial things.

fair play, i did the same. I'm a pro evo fanboy, so i bought a 360 when PES6 came out on it, becuase it was the only next-gen system with a PES game on it.
I assume you now own a 360, as two of my mates are always playing FF on it (two version 13 and 14 i think)
