My bro bought COD4 on Xbox 360 because they said it was better, even though Metacritic rates the PS3 version higher, both look stunning, but back then the problems with Xbox LIVE were rampant. GameStop employees love to give bill gates a good pole polishing.

Yeah, I've encountered extreme fanboyism at Game here in the UK. In the end, I just put the guy straight in front of the whole store and advised that Dissing one of the products you sell isn't particularly good buisness sense.

But that being said, there's a fair few people on N4G that say they work/own a game store. Seeing how blinded by their particular console they are I know I'd walk out of their store if they tried to force their uneducated fanboy bullshit down my throat.

I can understand fanboys to an extent but when your livlyhood is resting on selling the products in your store, it boggles the mind how closeminded some of these people are.

every1 at the game shops i got into are all xbox fan boys...when i ask about rrod i got into an argument coz this guy was saying its only 13%.

OMG i cannot stand the people who sell video games and know nothing about gaming. A few weeks ago i went into gamespot and asked for skate on the ps3, of course the guy handed me the xbox version. It really pissed me off lawl.I also saw a guy walk into gamestop and ask about the differences in the 360 and the ps3 and the clerk really did not know what he was talking about but the guy believed every word he was saying. The clerk was confusing the 360 arcade with the 360 elite! =0

By the way, EB games is only a good place to buy games bro, those guys know sh!t about gaming, sad really. I am a very informed consumer to when I go into these stores I usually get what I need and leave. I have had a few times when I have been forced to set some people straight but its rare.

It is true tho, these people are informing the public and have no idea what they are talking about, but it just goes to show that just as with everything else, it pays to be informed about things yourself rather than relying on others to tell you what is correct. I feel bad for all those poor suckers that got duped into buying an HD-DVD player for the holidays.

The Gamespot employees where I live seem unbiased. They are all about sales because they will try to sell you everything and tell you it's good.

analysis. I abhor going into them generally and I have gotten in a few heated discussions about things with the employees. Everyone who I've ever met that worked there are MS fanboys. This is why I ususally get my games at Blockbuster and Best Buy where I don't have to listen to their dribble.

Personally I've never encountered any EB employee's saying anything negative about any console at least nothing that I remember (so it must have not been that bad).

People always bash EB/Gamestop. At my store there isn't any of this, all of them are very professional like and they like to talk games, not something as stupid as the "console war"

On several occasions I have preordered fully on some titles for the ps3 and they reserved me a 360 copy . But, all i had to do was tell the store manager that i don't have a 360. thats all it took problem solved.

Hate to tell you,but Devil May Cry 4 was built for PC, and ported to the 2 consoles, PS3,Xbox360, and to remind everyone Devil may Cry 3 special edition was on PC, so this is not the first time it crossed platformed...granted that the pc version of DMC4 is not out yet for reasons I cannot explain...
However on the note that people saying HD dvd is winning over Blue ray...especially from EB/gamestop...don't they sell blue ray dvds only...I've never walked into an EB and seen a HD dvd movie for sale... so the people at EB/gamestop should really shut their mouth...And if anyone ever makes fun of you for buying a ps3...remind them when the last time their NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, PS1 or PS2 actually broke due to hardware/or software issues and had to be replaced/fixed..etc... In all honestly they will probably tell you never. Nintendo and sony are both honorable companies that deliver a quality product that you only buy once...Not microsoft who wants your 360 to break so you have to go buy a new one... Till this day and future.. I have never called nintendo or Sony for a broken console or even a game..

Whether you are a fanboy or not (which typically any time somebody calls somebody else a "fankid," it is a telling sign), the fact that you can't write is what bugs me more than a game store employee. The random punctuation and capitalization makes it pretty hard to even take you remotely serious.

There is no excuse for those employees' fanboyism. Just like there is no excuse for it on this website. I have had a 360 with a drive go out, and my wife's had the RROD. My Wii randomly broke while I was on deployment. I had two PS2's crap out on me long ago. And don't get me even started on my NES, and its spotty reliability 6 months after owning it. Seriously, would anybody stand for blowing into their cartridges or into the machines these days? My PS3 is working like a champ, but I play more games on my 360 RIGHT NOW because I am an achievment whore. I can see some exclusive games coming out for the PS3 that will change that.

I wish everyone would stop getting angry and heated over games and just play them. I would hate to think that gaming brings out the worst in us. Altough, I am pretty sure it does after playing on Xbox Live and the PSN.

of course they are fanboys, if you were serious about looking for a job would you pick ebgames? it takes special fanboyism to actually go and work there.

If I ever run into a Sony Fanboy out in the real world, I'll probably stomp their guts out. First for being an American Sony fanboy, while Japan refuses to support American gaming products. Second because I don't like the pompous ignorance all sony fanboys seem to be infected with.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.

Is this like the 10th quarter in a row they're down 33% on hardware how is that even mathematically possible. You would think their mediocrity would Plateau
