Mario's Psychological Report

Psychological Report by Dr. Amanda Wilkins
Holycow Asylum

PATIENT NAME: Mario
CASE No: 456/A
ADMISSION DATE: 9/13/1985
DIAGNOSTIC: Paranoid Schizophrenia

PURPOSE FOR EVALUATION
The patient is a 34 years old white male, single, from New York (NY) with Italian origins. Former occupation: plumber. His younger brother Luigi was the one that solicited his admittance into our facility fearing that the patient could present a threat for his own life.
According to Mr. Luigi, his brother changed completely after a routine job of pipe cleaning. The patient returned home after work with a old moldy peach (the peach was the reason for a pipe obstruction) and he informed his brother that he wants to marry it.

Reports of early therapy sessions and patient observations.

During first sessions of therapy the patient claimed that while we was working he was sucked into the pipeline and emerged into a different world on the other side which he calls "The Mushroom Kingdom". When asked why name it that, the patient replied that he was not the one to name it and he thought that the name made sense because the world was populated by mushrooms. It's possible that Mr. Mario could have inhaled fungus spore from the old pipes he was working on that triggered the hallucinogenic episode (samples were retrieved but no chemical or biological evidence was found to sustain this theory).
As an added note the office where the therapy sessions took place was cleared of all decorative plants as the patient expressed a violent episode of phobia towards them claiming they're "evil" and "want to bite me".
When the patient was admitted the peach he had with him could not be taken from his possession. Mr. Mario reacted violently at any attempt to liberate him of his "future bride". Seeing that the old fruit did not represent a threat to the patient or the facility and that it offered him a sense of stability I have allowed Mr. Mario to keep his fruit.

The second therapy session focused on the moldy fruit the patient was emotionally attached to. Mr. Mario claimed that it was a princess he managed to save from the evil Bowser (apparently the antagonist in the patient's fantasy world, described as a cross between a turtle and a tiger, possible interpretation of a father figure from patient's past, this theory however needs more investigation). The peach was moldy and seamed very old yet the patient gazed upon it with great personal satisfaction and relief. Asylum personal were recorded saying that Mr. Mario talked to the peach and in more than one occasion engaged in what appeared to be intimate actions with the fruit.
A very detailed description about his voyage into the imaginary world was given by the patient and this fact highlighted the severity of his mental instability.

3 October 1985
Dr. Amanda Wilkins

During a morning stroll through the asylum gardens the patient was observed as he deliberately started to jump on all the mushrooms he could find. When at one point another patient threw a mushroom at Mr Mario his reaction was surprising to say the least. Mr. Mario feel to the ground and started screaming that he just lost a life and now he only has 3 more left. Patient had to be restrained and escorted to his room.

Today the patient suffered some head wounds after he tried to smash a wooden supply crate using his head. When asked why, Mr. Mario replied "there's some gold coins in there, or even better, a Super Mushroom" (the term refers to a special mushroom from the patient's imaginary world that he thinks will make him grow).

Tragedy struck today as one of the new cleaning staff, while cleaning up the patient's room threw away the old peach. Mr. Mario was at the time sleeping. When he woke up and didn't find his peach he became extremely nervous and begun searching everywhere for it. The peach was never recovered and Mr. Mario entered a catatonic state. Seeing the lack of response from the patient I decided, after much consideration, to give the patient a new peach. My intention was not received well. Mr Mario's exact words were: "Is this a joke, what's the peach for?". This proves once again that the patient is not responding to the medical treatments. I recommended an increase in dosage.

Patient didn't respond to the increased dosage. He was found today with his head in the toilet flushing continuously. Later he revealed that he was trying to get back to the mushroom kingdom and save his princess. The toilet was immediately removed (only a 12cm diameter pipe remains, but it has been sealed) from the room and now the patient needs to be escorted in the building's bathroom all the time.

Final Considerations.

Up to this moment the patient doesn't seem to respond to any type of treatment. Not even the administration on heavy neural inhibitors seems to subdue the powerful imagination of the patient. Recommend putting patient on experimental treatments list after obtaining authorization from his only known relative.

REPORT UPDATE
23 August 1987

Patient went missing last night from his room following a strange black-out that shut down the surveillance system. No tunnels were found in his room and the most peculiar aspect is that the room doors are electronically operated and automatically go into lock down if the power is cut. The only thing strange was the fact that the pipe from the toiled that was removed from Mr. Mario's room was no longer sealed.
A country wide search was initiated to apprehend Mr. Mario.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing27d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit27d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing27d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9227d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
