The 3rd Party Developers
If you study carefully since day one of the original PlayStation Sony let 3rd party developers take center stage spotlight before their 2nd and first party.
Its has been their strategy since day one.
Their relationship with 3rd party developers is second to none!
A strategy completely opposite that of Nintendo. And the strategy ever imitated by MS even to the point that M$ would rather throw millions of money to 3rd parties devs than make their own new game IPs!
Sony does not want to be its 3rd party partners' number one competition - problem that has plagued Nintendo home consoles for years.
The PS3
The only exception we see Sony doubling its efforts to make system selling 1st party games was on the PS3. 1st party games like Uncharted, God of War, LBP showcased the power of the PS3 as a developer's platform for making beautiful games.
Couple this with Sony's strict anti-piracy measures 3rd party saw a golden opportunity to make their games on PS3. Even prolific PC developers like Epic Games, Crytek, flock to PS3 in 2010. EA outspokenly said the PS3 is "on fire!"

And Valve, PS3's most outspoken critic, apologizes for bashing the PS3.
"However, Sony Computer Entertainment has proved that the PlayStation 3 is the most open platform of all the current generation consoles and has worked extremely hard to make the platform the most desirable for consumers and developers.
"As such, we are delighted to announce Portal 2 for the PlayStation 3 and believe the Steamworks support included will make it the best console version of the game."

The 2nd Party Developers
2nd Party exclusive game developers also had their shining moment on PS3 spotlight making way for great new franchises and stabilizing some old ones. Uncharted, Little Big Planet, Demon's Souls, Infamous, Ni No Kuni, Dragon's Crown, Yakuza, Heavy Rain,etc.
Sony is so supportive of them to the point of absorbing them and assuring them long term game development jobs. Naughty Dog, Media Molecule, Sucker Punch, etc.
The Indie Developers
Flow, Flower and Journey are living testaments of Sony's unrelenting commitment to support small sized development companies. And its paid of not only for PlayStation but also for the millions of gamers who want new, original and creative games big sized companies simply won't offer.
Now its nice that 3rd, 2nd, 1st & Indie party games are in complete harmony and abundance on PlayStation platforms.
The PS4
Last but not the least Mark Cerny, has been talking to 3rd party developers since 2008 what they want and what they need to make the PS4 a worthwhile platform to create the greatest games of the future! With the PS4 as the easiest and most open next gen platform to create games for its just a matter of time how these devs implement their great game ideas on PS4 down the road.
The PC Developers.
PlayStation has never ever competed with PC but is working hand in hand to give the gamers the shared full HD game experience on both platforms.Games like DC Universe, Warframe, FF XIV, War Thunder, Planetside 2 are proof that Sony is also supporting PC developers.
No one can deny how great this future proof strategy of the PlayStation is for the greatest interest of many - Sony, the developers, the gamers and the whole video games industry.
With Sony making all the right moves with PS4 an industrial revolution is surely happening this very moment.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.
The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.
Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.
15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.
These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
