Every year I wait for the NFL draft which is alot like E3, than you have Gamescom which is alot like preseason. E3 shows me which new games I will be drafting to my console. And Gamescom shows me how they are going to potentially play. Our consoles are like are favorite teams, every year your team is going to the Superbowl. And every year our console is going to win the console war. With the new consoles coming this fall I really felt like this comparison hit home. Each console has their veteran quarterback. Xbox has Halo, and Playstation has Uncharted. Than E3 comes along and we see the new draft picks. Xbox looks to have gotten a really good draft pick with Titanfall. And they picked up some good free agents with exclusive content for their multiplat games. Xbox remindes me of that team that tries to buy a superbowl. And Playstation building through the draft and free agency. Like football teams everything looks good on paper. But come gametime how does your team and new draft picks play.
Now I won't lie, my favorite console to play games on is the Playstation. I do own a 360 but my prefered console is Playstation. So My team is PS4, and I think they will win the console war, on paper, but as a rational gamer thats really all I have to go on now. And really that is all anybody can go on now. But it is hard to be rational when it comes to our teams, be it NFL or consoles. Now when it comes to my NFL team (Vikings) I am far from rational, hell they lost their first game and I still think they will win the superbowl. When the 360 came out it was a dominant console and I just told myself that playstation was in a rebuilding stage. Than towards the end of their life cycles PS3 started showing its muscle. Now it's time to start all over again with the new consoles. And I have decided to try and be a rational fan.
Both consoles coming out in November get a fresh new start, it is a new season. And both have positive and negatives to them. I step back and respect Xbox One for what it has to offer as the new season kicks off. And I feel the same way with the PS4. I am just waiting to see how the new draft picks(games) play out on each side. To be honest I don't see a great draft pick that the playstation has to start out with but I believe the PS4 has been well coached. Xbox One has some very good draft picks but lets be honest they have not been coached very well. In the end we as gamers we have a choice of which team we will be picking. I have decided to not pick a team but to pick a game to get behind. Because in the end we don't play consoles we play games.
