Why can't anyone understand this?

Can't anyone understand that Sony didn't "rip us all off" by not including rumble initially in the Sixaxis?

All you lame-brains need to understand that Sony was entangled in LAWSUITS regarding the force-feedback tech in their controllers.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immersion_v._Sony

There of course was that lame attempt at a cover-up statement by Sony, saying that it would interfere with the motion tech in the controller, but that was obviously false because of the already existing motion / rumble tech in the Wiimote.

So in the end, take your collective heads out of your arses, and please realize that Sony had their hands tied at first, and were UNABLE to release a controller with rumble.

If Sony wanted to give its customers what they wanted, they could have paid the license fees just like Microsoft did, and, which they will end up doing anyway. The PS3 cost so much I think Sony just didn't want to pay, much in the same way Microsoft doesn't want to eat the cost if integrating Bluray into their console.

Obviously MS' HD blunder had a more significant impact than Sony's rumble decision. One reason, there are many like me who think rumble is more or less a bust.

Yes, but the amount Sony were sued was far more than that which Microsoft was, due to their having produced far more dualshocks than Microsoft had Xbox controllers.

likeaboss3026590d ago (Edited 6590d ago )

They could have been upfront about it and settled the suit sooner. Instead we got some BS about it being last gen tech and Sixaxis "Wii wanna be" crap.

NO_PUDding6588d ago

Don't jump on sixaxis too early on.

It may become far more important, when more inventive devlopers apply themselves, for exmaple in PS3 exclusives.

GTA IV is goign to use it.

mikeslemonade6581d ago

Rumble is a last gen feature.

socomnick6580d ago

lol thats why they brought it back right.

Jinxstar6581d ago

I am one of those rare people I think who didn't miss it much... Its a cool feature but... doesn't "Make the game" for me in any way. I honestly feel like the Sixaxis has been used well in a few games like HS and Ratchet and clank. It actually immersed me more into the game then rumble did... but whatever. Having both doesn't hurt and at least they did release it.

LinuxGuru6580d ago (Edited 6580d ago )

So basically you refuse to understand that Sony was incapable of releasing a dualshock initially?

Oh well...some people can't be helped because they refuse to allow themselves to be helped.

@ John_V

Maybe you should apply for Sony's PR department.

LinuxGuru6580d ago

Maybe you should take another stab at being witty, because frankly, that sucked.
