It`s Funcom`s new baby allright. They came up with a teaser a year ago, it didn`t mean much other than knowing that they are making another mmorpg. Well, for me they gained a lot of credit with Age of Conan. It was a new IP from a new company trying to out compete a giant - Blizzard - .
Sure, Age of Conan failed in the long term, or let me rephrase it by saying it didn`t meet the expectations, not a total failure, but we should remember that they did a pretty good job on the release and were a geniune threat to WOW for a while. The threat didn`t last long because of their mistakes and inexperience.
Why do I give them that much of a credit ? Because normally, a producer like Funcom would shut their doors and would be written in the history as a total failure when they try to go against World of Warcraft as a new producer with a new game. I give them credit because they remained in the industry somehow and their game was fully of good ideas. Age of Conan was actually a great game. And I believe in the Secret World. Why ?
1- They learned from their mistakes, they won`t repeat them again.
2- They are backed up by arguably the strongest producer in the game industry - Electronic Arts - .
3- There are several great ideas for this game as you play in variety of worlds, not a single one.
As you would notice in the trailer below, the game is shining with bright ideas. With Funcom getting more experienced and stronger by time we shall expect no other than greatness for The Secret World once it gets released.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.
The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.
Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.
15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.
These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse

Where are your impression of the Secret World? This reads more like, "Funcom took one in the balls because of Age of Conan, but are getting right back up to directly challenge WOW with this other title I'm not really going to go into details about."
And really, who is going "directly" against WOW at this point? If the Secret World is strong enough to stand on its own, exist in WOW's shadow to one day possibly become similarly as popular as WOW, be a draw or appeal to the few millions who have never touched WOW, should at least be part of your focus. How the game actually plays and what its world is like given at least some small attention.

I never said they are going directly against wow with secret world, i said they CHALLLENGED Wow in the past with age of conan, not with secret world
I fixed the video link but as I said i don`t think secret world is a direct competitor to wow, i certainly don`t .
I hope it succeeds because I wanna invest my time and money into what looks to be one really promising gritty, modern day, badass MMO!
Everything shown so far just looks badass in a way I have never seen before in an MMO.
