From Valenka
Imagine, for a moment, being alone and adrift in outer space without a single method of communication with civilization. You might panic and deplete your oxygen supply in a matter of minutes, or you might remain suspended and floating around, pondering your life leading up to this point as you wait for the inevitable hands of fate to hold you. You might do a combination of both or something in between. Of course, that is all hypothetical for us, but in the shoes of Lost Orbit’s protagonist, it is very real.
You are Harrison, a maintenance worker who has been sent into the confines of outer space, on a mission to diagnose and repair a communications relay. As he begins his repairs, a flash of ominous light strikes and his ship is destroyed. As the narrator melodically sets the stage for the game, Harrison takes off in his spacesuit that would seem to have an infinite supply of oxygen and thruster fuel. Initially, Lost Orbit appears to be a modernized classic arcade game, as you move left and right, sometimes backward, as the action moves forward like a Star Wars introduction. However, as Harrison is simply a maintenance worker in a common suit, he has no weapons at all. His only defense his is ability to dodge and move at breakneck speed.

Lost Orbit is an exciting experience on the whole that truly tests your reflexes and concentration levels. With a thematic of speed and precision, any slight mistake can result in instant death and restarting at the nearest checkpoint. Turbo-thrusting your way through claustrophobic walls of asteroids is comparable to speeding and weaving in and out of traffic in your favorite street racing game, where all seems to be going well until you make a slight miscalculation and have a messy consequence.
As Harrison hurtles through space on his way home, there will be the discovery of more obstacles than just asteroids. Sentient machinery, aliens and automatic lasers will challenge your flight path as you move to avoid their deadly presence. It isn’t particularly detailed why these obstacles attack you, but it’s safe to assume they’re hostile forces akin to space raiders that attack anything that moves. In addition, there are not-so-deadly obstacles that provide interesting outcomes like wormholes that teleport you, pulsars that repel you like the opposite ends of a magnet, gas clouds that boost your speed and ‘obtainium’ to collect that fund your score and serve as currency for permanent upgrades.
Lost Orbit looks outstanding, offering a familiar feel that makes good use of a colorful and aesthetically pleasing art style, complete with favorable visual effects. With a central focus on high speeds and precision, the game does an excellent job of maintaining clarity in motion. There are also quite a few death animations, some of which are humorous and over-the-top. Level design is simply wonderful and in classic arcade fashion, the levels are beatable in a few minutes at most and there’s replay value within if you enjoy the challenge of improving your score and ranking. Harrison’s adventure is narrated by a soothingly melodic and fascinating voice that often offers some entertainingly tragic and emotive commentary. It adds a unique flair to an experience that certainly wouldn’t feel the same without it.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The charity event will be streamed live from Gamescom in August.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.

Awwww yeeeah. I love when a game comes out and says "yeah, this defies all logic, but it's awesome right?" Proves that games don't have to be realistic to be enjoyable. I'm talking to you, CoD fans!
