Which one to go for PC or Consoles

Which one to go for PC or Consoles? Well! This is the question every gamer must have asked themselves.
The answer to this question is not that easy as you are thinking and not that hard also. Mainly, the answer
to this question will vary head to head depending upon person’s likes or dislikes. Let’s begin the search.

So we want to be a gamer. How do we go about becoming one? Traditionally, those entering the gaming
world usually buy a console, which today would mean picking up either an Xbox One or PS4. While those
are both great devices, most are unaware that there is another option PC gaming.

People shy away from PC gaming for a number of reasons, the primary one usually being the high initial
cost. But what most never come to realize is that what lies beyond that initial cost is a near infinite amount
of gaming potential.

That’s not to say, however, that console don’t have theirs benefits. Below I’ve broked down the PC vs
Consoles debate into several conclusions, and then you’ll be able to make the decision for yourself.

There’s no question that console are, initially, the cheaper option. The PS4 and Xbox One are both priced
around $350-400, while average gaming PC rig might cost upwards $800. It costs less if you build your
own system. If you opt for a gaming laptop, you could be paying even more.

Consoles game traditionally cost much more than PC games. This is because PC game have access to
servers like Steam, where games that are $60 on consoles regularly go on sale for 50-75% off. In offer
season we can purchase 5 or 6 in single game’s cost.

As a PC gamer, we can recoup our initial losses over time, especially since online multiplayer is free on
PCs, whereas it’s an additional $50-60 a year on consoles.

Performance is a good boon for PC games. Just one of the GTX Titan graphics card are worth several
consoles in terms of computing power. Consoles are weak by modern computing standards. Indeed, any
decent gaming PC from around 2010-2013 will likely be more powerful than Xbox One or PS4.

Even the most average gaming PCs of 2016 are far ahead of the consoles by leap and bounds, something
that is definitely evident in the games we play. More power means higher resolution, smoother fps, better
looking graphics and faster load times.

The only question you have to ask yourself is whether these are worth extra cost to you? If yes, then the
PC games is your only option. If you are someone who doesn’t really cares about the particular of a game’s
graphics and performance and just want to enjoy good game play, consoles will probably work just fine
for you.

By the way, I have both of them and I also want to know “Which suits you best?”

These days, you only need to upgrade your graphics card to keep up with performance on PC so once you have one, it's not that difficult to have a 100% backwards compatible platform across multiple generations.
Last gen I had all the consoles and a PC and gamed mostly on console because there was more there that I couldn't get on PC. This time round I bought a PS4 and I barely touch it because everything is on PC too and looks better on it. The only reason I keep my PS4 around is because I still expect a ton of exclusives in the second half of the generation, the way Playstation usually has them.

somehow you are right to some extent...many games isn't available for pc and xbox like uncharted..i myself always use pc but i had kept spare consoles to satisfy these needs of uncharted and more games like that

starchild3599d ago

You summed it up pretty well. It will be interesting to see how or if Neo and Scorpio will change that equation for some people.

Personally, I have a gaming PC and a PS3 and PS4. I enjoy aspects about both PC gaming and console gaming.

I own Windows 10 gaming PC and PS4. That covers the vast majority of games coming out. I can tell you that I have a much larger PC game library than PS4. Why? Games are just so cheap when you buy them at the right time or from the right place on PC. The only real issue I have with PC gaming is when developers make crappy ports. Batman: AK is the poster child for what can go wrong with a PC game. So be wary.

Nah, the issues with Batman Arkham Knight were somewhat exaggerated. And they were fixed anyway. The game looks truly amazing and runs better than other graphically demanding games like The Witcher 3, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Assassin's Creed Unity, etc. I run it at 1440p resolution (gsync monitor) with max settings (minus dynamic smoke and debris) and get around 50fps average on my gtx 970.

To be clear, I'm not saying it started out as a well optimized game. It wasn't. I'm just saying that even with its issues it still ran better on my PC than on my console. Although, to be fair, I've heard that certain AMD cards had more issues with the game. In any case, it runs pretty great after the patches considering it's scale and the quality of its graphics.

Sorry, but the average pc is not 800$.For 800$ you get easily 3x ps4 performance.A friend 1 week ago built a 720 euro pc with cf 290s,i5 4460 and 8gb ram.Agree with most points, but one question.Does anybody on consoles pay for extra warranty???

giant3598d ago

well! u rightly said that average pc costs much lesser than 800$. Bt i was talking of average gaming PC...and talking of extra warranty i will say that why would you pay for extra warranty? don't you think 12 months is sufficient...in case you want you may avail these offers in offer season....for further infos you may either google for it!!

Ysmir67233598d ago

When all my pc parts have at least 3 years warranty and console parts are of much worse quality,i think extra warranty is absolutely needed. Not to mention bigger hard drive and extra controller. And i dont want a console.Too weak, too cheap, extremely limeted utility and it hasent got a single game that i would buy, that dosent already comes out on pc.Good post though.I just cant see a single point where a pc gamer buys a console.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing6d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster926d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit6d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing6d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster926d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
