All About E3

Each June, the gaming industry travels en masse to LA for E3, the western world’s biggest videogame
conference in order to show and see the hottest titles around.

Ahead of the event there are always rumours that fly around about specific games, consoles or anything.
So. I’ve put together a handy guide on what we’ve seen and heard so far, to give you an idea of how E3
2016 might pan out.

What is E3? Someone of you, might have been started wondering. E3 was first held in Los Angeles in
1995, the Electronics Entertainment Expo (E3) was formed after the games industry decided it didn’t want
to share a convention with consumer electronics manufacturers. Until, CES in Las Vegas each year had a
large gaming presence.

E3 was decided to give the rapidly rising industry its own major trade show and platform. It has expanded,
constructed and expanded again and again over the last 21 years, even switching location on a couple of
occasions. It is number one event for major game announcements, from Sony and Microsoft.

The show itself technically opens it door on 14 June and ends on Thursday 16 June. Sony, Microsoft and
major companies each hold press conferences prior to E3.

Now, you all know that what E3 is, now you might have been assuming “What Game companies wil be at
E3?” Hundreds of publishers and developers show there ware at E3 each and every year, either on the
show floor or BCD in private rooms. There will be no EA and Activision stands. There will be some BCD
sessions.

Activision will have some of its new game on partners booths, such as the Playstation and XBOX booths.
The three biggest stands each year are naturally those for Playstation, XBOX and Nintendo. They are each
expected to have a massive presence at the show or before. Nintendo has also confirmed that its entire
show booths this year will be dedicated to the Wii U version of The League of Zelda. It will be playable but
has been delayed until 2017 to be released simultaneous alongside the Nintendo NX version.

There are also more company which will be at E3 this year like 2K, Bandai Namco, Bethesda, Capcom,
Deep Silver, Konami, Logitech, Sega, Square Enix, Ubisoft and Warner Bros.
There are a few game that haven’t been announced or even rumoured for E3 2016, but still hold out, hope
will some of our answers get answered.

Although, E3 will be fun this year also.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit14d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing14d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9214d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
