The basic question here is: What do you think of Gaming developers/publishers looking toward the technology and future of 3D gaming?
We first saw it in Avatar. The ability to watch that movie in 3D, sent millions of dollars to the box office (as well as being a legit movie). Ever since then, it seems like it’s been a race to see who can release the first native 3D today. And what company is going to revolution games, like Avatar did to push the boundaries of movies?
Already, I’m doing my normal video game industry news browsing, and I came across this: http://www.computerandvideo... - Crysis 2 to be in 3D (YES! Both multiplayer and single player.) This is just one example of the VG industry heading towards 3D technology.
One main thing remains an obstacle (in my opinion). The use of 3D glasses. For people with glasses, I hear the 3D glasses get uncomfortable after a few hours. And for all those who have at least a dual monitor setup (or TV) running the basketball game (by the way, good job last night Boston) or Electric Sheep in the background on the other display, how will focusing on your main 3D display, and then glancing at your other display, unfold? Unless you have 2 sets of 3D TVs, the taking-off and putting-on of the glasses, I think, will be tedious and annoying after awhile.
My thoughts, unless the new 3D technology coming out starts ditching the glasses will render the other monitor useless unless of course you go buy another 3D TV.
My thoughts: 3D technology is amazing. Avatar, being the main (most popular at least) frontier of the 3D movement, broke new boundaries, expanded possibilities and our expectations as well. But I think the 3D glasses (the new 3D TV has a set of 4 3D glasses for $80) are almost a hindrance. Figuring out how to make things pop out of the screen without 3D glasses will be difficult, but I think that is the most plausible way that this new technology will catch on and take off, is to ditch the glasses, and see what other direction they could take this. Considering 3D technology is in it’s infancy stage, now is the time to invest heavily, and figure out exactly how to do that.
What do you guys think? Have any other 3D articles worth looking at? Here’s one more article, featuring the http://www.computerandvideo... - Xbox 360 going 3D.

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

The charity event will be streamed live from Gamescom in August.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.
