Unless you have been living under a rock or have been held in captivity, gaming news sites, social media and N4G have exploded over the past few days from incoming rumours to the realisation of Scalebound being cancelled by Microsoft. From the above statement and the games mentioned, most of them have also suffered delays in development since their E3 reveals. I see articles on the front pages of N4G posted the past few days relating to the big news of the cancellation of Scalebound, articles questioning the decision by Microsoft, articles predicting Microsoft's next move etc, but no 'xbox has no new games' articles.
With what is coming up from Mircosoft's first party studios and exclusivity deals, new Halo, potentially a new Gears, Forza 7, Cuphead, and the games mentioned in the above statement to Eurogamer, then what? Adding the fact that those 'exclusives' are also available on PC via Windows Store, Xbox gamers are getting worried about the situation of games with Scorpio incoming, some citing E3 as critical to Microsoft's future in the console business. After all, what is the overall point of a gaming console? To play games. A gaming console can have TV capabilities, movie streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime etc, ESPN and Sports, even a 4K UHD Blu-Ray player, but if it doesn't have the supply of games to match then it defeats the purpose of a gaming console. I remember the backlash from the media at the launch of the PlayStation 4, articles like how after launch there were no first party games for many months before InFamous Second Son released, but the situation for Sony has been drastically overturned with such a large diverse range of IP's already released and with more incoming over 2017 and nearing the end of it's generation life cycle. From recent history of game releases the majority of Microsoft first party games turn gold and are released during the holiday season, but with the impending worry from the fan base Microsoft may be forced into changing their strategy for the Xbox One to potentially save it and Scorpio, or be forced out of the gaming console business.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.
The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.
Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.
15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.
These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse

There's three right here(last one still pending but will be approved shortly) and it's only been a day, not a few days, since the announcement. Now these articles don't have the title 'Xbox One has no games' but each touch on the topic of how little is releasing for 2017 for the Xbox One, similar to the PS4 in 2014. Sony has a lot of exclusives coming this year and Microsoft does not so now, personally, I fully expect lots of these types of articles.

Couldn't be anything close to the idea that Microsoft is not fully invested in the game industry and their lack of studios is catching up with them like Usain Bolt. Couldn't be because Microsoft's marketing and advertising keeps some of these sites in refraining from saying much against their hidden check book. Couldn't be that.
