Assassin's Creed games of late aren't close to as bad as most people who complain about them make them out to be.
There, I said it. Yeah, they're not award winning gaming options, but I play way worse games all the time compared to them.
Shadows, as an example, has its annoyances. Swapping between Yasuke and Naoe for situational purposes, the weird focus on season changes, and an open world that has way too much that just sits there and is never utilized. It's a good game, though. I can control the challenge level by my choices. I can increase combat challenge by playing as Naoe and not using insta-kill skills. I can increase stealth challenge by playing as Yasuke and using only the bow. How I play the game is almost entirely my choice for the majority of the game. The story is good. The graphics are good. The voice acting is good if you ignore a few weirdo NPCs.
