Between this, the nominations phase, and the upcoming voting phase I wanted to answer some questions that have already come up as well as anticipate a couple others. If you have any additional questions go ahead and ask in the comments, I'll answer to the best of my ability!

1. Why did we ask for your nominations?
N4G is a user driven site, so having the staff deliver a list to you for you to vote on seemed contrary to the way N4G works. We want the official N4G GOTY poll and results to be a reflection of the current N4G community.

2. Will we see ALL of the nominations?
There were a few categories (News Story and In Game Moment are good examples) where we either had a lot of similar nominations, or a pretty good variety of nominations with a handful of consistent ones. Where nominations were similar, they were distilled into the common factor. Where nominations were varied, the ones that came up with the most frequency were used.

3. The Person 4 Conundrum and similar items:
Persona 4 Arena came up frequently enough that it earned it's own Q&A. However, Persona 4 Arena released in the majority of regions (all regions except EU) prior to 2013. Ni No Kuni, another game that we looked at critically, was released in 2010 in Japan but did not see a release in any other region until 2013. It was decided that eligibility would be determined based on date released in the majority of regions.

YES. If you nominated something like Persona 4 Arena, or a new studio, or an in-game moment that ended up not being used in the final poll, you are still entered in the drawing.

5. Where and when do we vote?
The official GOTY voting will open soon and I will post a blog with the information and link. And tweet it. And post on FB. And make an inline ad on N4G. I'm going to make it really hard to miss. :)

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.
The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.
Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.
15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.
These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.
So we are going to see an official N4G awards soon eh? It is already obvious what is N4G's GOTY :P
