Microsoft didn't just fork over 50million for DLC exclusivity. They forked over the 50million to help Rockstar finish the game. Otherwise take two probably would've folded under the E.A. takeover. In return for their help, they got some DLC.

You could make the argument well, they paid money and got Exclusive DLC. I can agree with that. But the picture is/was bigger than that. That was an incentive.

It will be exclusive on the 360 for a year at the very most. After that probably all new hard copies sold will include the content and will be available on PSN. I haven't touched GTAIV since June, never finished the story, online is boring. DLC made no difference and overrated all along.

Microsoft paid, however indirectly, for exclusive content. There WILL be content for both consoles in the future, but this 360 exclusive content will stay so unless Microsoft chooses to licence it to Sony - which they might do, because GTA4 has been out long enough that Microsoft can hardly expect to pick up new sales or move more consoles based on this DLC.

But it's not as simple as saying "it'll be out on the PS3 in a few months/a year/whatever".

But the notion that MS "owns" the GTA IV DLC is also just speculation.

We have seen what the term exclusive has meant previously, so it could turn out to mean Timed exclusivity this time too.

Gaming is business and what companies say one day, is nearly always subject to change with the market and necessity...

PS3 will likely get different exclusive content... that's all.

Who cares either way im so past gta if came on ps3 wouldnt bother to download it anyway and i doubt it will sell that well on the 360 most people are playing gow2 or cod:waw.

this could be possible because sony gave microsoft movies for the new xbox experience, which was at a time gone but then back. this could be a way for xbox to pay back sony.

Okay for the people who continue to complain over GTA IV you are complete morons. You listen to all the kids and teens over the interwebz who said there would be this and that and didn't keep to reading official facts about the game. Everything Rockstar said would be in the game is in the game.

An here we go again with all the talk and what ifs. Simple fact rockstar and microsoft said they paid for excluvive rights to all DLC for GTA IV. Meaning ANYTHING that means ANYTHING that is downloadable for GTA IV is only going to be only xbox live. That is it. It's not even legal for sony to say that they are releasing DLC for GTA IV microsoft bought all the rights. Stop wasting time on unofficial chit chat and just ways for people to gain attenttention by making crap up an stiring the pot. Ps3 is not getting DLC never said they were and never are get over it go buy a 360. there like 150$ for one used an if you can't afford live then you should spend a lot less time on here.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
