I highly doubt it. It'd be a nice surprise though.

jjdoyle5127d ago

Maybe as a digital version only?

saladthieves5127d ago

What?! Hell to the no!

This is one of the Rumors I desperately want to come true. A sequel to Mirror's Edge would be nothing but awesome news.

jjdoyle5126d ago

Ah, I didn't mean no sequel just perhaps not a physical retail release. Like distributed via PSN and LIVE, and perhaps Origin and/or Steam?

DeadlyFire5126d ago

I am expecting it. As well as Bad Company 3.

I see Bad Company 3 coming Early 2013 and Respawn launching their game in Fall 2013. Mirror's Edge 2 launching somewhere in between or in 2014.

kneon5126d ago

I just hope they don't dumb it down because of all the whiners.

It's about time! Mirrors Edge is HIGHLY underrated. The game was an intense ride from start to finish.

"Mirrors Edge is HIGHLY underrated"

Ummm...no, it's not. Most people who played it love it and it did well in both sales and reviews. That does not make an underrated game. Too often I see people saying that some popular game is underrated.

On topic, I would love if this rumour were true but I imagine it won't be, who knows though.

Soldierone5127d ago

How many people are talking about it all the time? After launch, hardly any. Underrated can mean several things, and mirrors edge meets a good majority of it.

The fact that the people that DO play the game enjoy it, is the beginning of what makes a game under rated.

deep_fried_bum_cake5127d ago

Soldierone

I didn't realise that if people were not talking about a game all the time then it was underrated. Please explain to me these many ways in which it is underrated, because I can't for the life of me think of any.

The game sold over 2 million copies and has 79% on metacritic. Add to that that most people who play it love it and I think you'll find that it isn't underrated.

WeskerChildReborned5127d ago

I thought Mirrors Edge 2 was cancelled? Well if it isn't then that would be an awesome surprise at E3.

OccludedGamer5127d ago

it wasn't cancelled, however the first time the game was pitched it was declined.

It's not uncommon for a game to be declined on it's first pitch. Normally this just means they need to bulk out the product more. It's nothing more than an additional delay really.

It's development was put on hold towards the end of Battlefield 3's development. I'm pretty sure it's in full development now that BF3 launched.

OhMyGandhi5127d ago

this would be damned awesome if indeed true.

EA Lays Off Staff Across All Battlefield Studios Following Record-Breaking Battlefield 6 Launch

EA is laying off an unknown number of individuals from across its Battlefield teams, including workers at Criterion, Dice, Ripple Effect, and Motive Studios, IGN understands.

When logic meets EA it generates anti-matter ..... so try not to apply it in any meaningful way. Entropy is what matters in there !!

badz14981d ago

cue the apologist saying that these are mostly just contractors hired for this specific project bla bla bla

The community warned them this would happen but nope they knew better they continued with the live service push the made the art style cartoonish and this is the result

isarai_lee93d ago

It's always so bizarre when studios announce something super early in development under the suggestion of forming the game to player feedback, and then they push against all feedback heading straight for the cliff while everyone is warning them along the way

US Lawmakers Urge Review Of EA Sale

The Congressional Labor Caucus sent a letter to the FTC warning the debt-financed, largely PIF-owned deal could be bad news for workers

lol ya think? they're sending all that work to the cheaper labor market as soon as possible. and FYI, that labor market has exploded in the last 5-10 years. They have enough people to replace every single job. But honestly, EA is over filled with useless upper management as it is. You could probably trim 25% of their staff with no real loss in production. They aren't gamers, they're business execs. Just look at how many AI related jobs they're already starting to post. Its also hilarious that PIF owns Battle field 6

Wait,

The same congress that attacked Lina Khan when she fought the Microsoft Activision purchase.
The same congress that allowed Disney to buy 90% of Fox
The same congress that allowed Liv Golf to buy the PGA
The same congress that sits back while Paramount tries a hostile takeover despite losing the bid for Warner Bros.

NOW, the suddenly cares about doing what's "right" for works? Yeah, right.

No. There were elections and some of the scum were replaced.

Different elections. Different scum. Same results.

i know its a long shot, but i hope this gets shot down.

EA now owned by The Saudis and Ubisoft to inevitably be owned by China. In hindsight, once EA and Ubisoft started having their financial woes, they should have pulled a Koei Tecmo/Bandai Namco by merging their operations into one.
