Saudi Arabia Will Own 93 Percent Of Battlefield 6 Publisher EA

When the dust settles on the $55 billion leveraged buyout of Electronic Arts, Saudi Arabia will be its only true owner, despite a “consortium” of investors being involved in the deal. Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund will control 93 percent of the company, according to filings with Brazil’s antitrust regulator.

blacktiger44d ago

Technically speaking, Saudi Arabia and TENCENT can buy the entire USA. ANf Democrat and Republican will not do crap!

Inverno44d ago

Letting foreign entities own half of American businesses is liberal and very progressive. So is bringing in all that talent from outside the States to replace the talentless and lazy American workers. And here I thought the Trump administration wanted to border is up but nope. We're supposed to worry bout them "radical Muslims" minding their own here and ignore China/Saudi/Israel taking over.

blacktiger44d ago

Another thing I hate hearing is "liberal and very progressive"
It's 2025 and that stuff is outdated. Everything and everyway is literally the same thing wheter it's progressive, conservativ. Because they all wants the same thing have, king unlimited oney buy everything including your house.

Now they making mainstream media news that it's AI Bubble justify to highjack the price of RAM.
Another excuse for inflation!

Tacoboto44d ago

"here I thought the Trump administration wanted to border is up but nope"

Lol, you actually bought what he was selling? Let's see this week alone...

Yesterday he pardoned an international drug lord, while allowing the murder of random fishermen on boats. Remember drain the swamp? He pardoned a Democratic Congressman jailed for bribery just today, nevermind that fraudulent drag queen republican that was kicked out of Congress and imprisoned for their fraud. It's so petty they're picking fights on social media with pop stars while using their music, and even using Franklin the damn Turtle to cartoonify their murders.

thorstein43d ago

You believed him!?!!

I've got some Trump $5000 bills for you, only half off.

Looking on the bright side, the games may be patched to remove any ideologies that are incompatible for the majority of the world.

What do you mean? You want censorship in games?

Rockstar launches official marketplace for mods

Rockstar has launched an official marketplace for "every server and every player" to buy mods: Cfx Marketplace.

I wonder how much of this isn't just taken work of others who have modded for free.

Edit: Also, great way for R* to take popular ideas and build them into GTAVI based on demand.

fr0sty8h ago

What I see happening here is, R* is going to ban mods in GTA6 UNLESS you buy them from the marketplace and R* then gets a cut of that sale.

ActualWhiteMan11h ago

Ah, perfect timing with them taking down the Bully online fan mod. Greedy a$$ company.

Christopher8h ago

It's okay as long as they get a cut of the money.

fr0sty8h ago

Expect R* to force it on you.

Snookies122h ago

Yep, right there with you. I'll happily donate to a mod creator if it looks really cool, or if I enjoy it. But expecting payment up front? Nope, not touching it.

IanTH7h ago(Edited 7h ago)

I'm not entirely sure how to read this, as it doesn't seem exactly like an exact parallel to Bethesda's paid mods shenanigans.

Rather than single player stuff, this appears to be aimed solely on Cfx Servers. From what I've gleaned, apparently Rockstar bought the Cfx mod team several years ago, coming a few years after weird contentions led them to ban a few of their members. Ultimately, the question is if they plan to keep this contained to only online/servers.

I have to guess to a degree yes. It'd be pretty hard to "force" paid mods for single player when modding files locally on your own machine, but much easier for servers they'll control. So perhaps this is their soft launch ahead of GTA6 online and they'll clamp down more tightly on non-official servers going forward? Ever since they've become a 1 or 2 property studio, I haven't really cared much for Rockstar stuff, so I'm not entirely up on everything surrounding this. Sounds like it has the potential to be problematic further down the line, but right now fairly easy to ignore...I think lol.

Gaming is Getting Exhausting

From battle passes to bloated campaigns, modern games increasingly demand labour rather than leisure. Jump Dash Roll asks: when did gaming stop being a way to unwind and start feeling like work?

LucasRuinedChildhood2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

The writer of this article seemed to come up with the answer that would make him feel better - to play more single player games that aren't overly long.

But then he basically just says that it's not achievable because there is only a "small selection" of them which isn't true. He even mentioned Mass Effect Legendary Edition as if it isn't 3 separate games. In general, he seems to only care about the high budget games which is a mistake.

In the same way that game designers have to stop players from optimising the fun out of a game, some people need to stop doing that with the entire hobby. It's not that serious.

TiredGamer1d 3h ago

I’ve been gaming for decades, and I have almost entirely shifted to classic gaming and/or 32-bit era titles. Modern games are exhausting to me and the recognition that I will have to put 20, 30, 50, or 100 hours into a game to complete it is completely daunting to me. Gaming for more than two hours at a time today tends to feel either wasteful, lazy, or drudging to me.

I miss the days of shorter 1-3 hour games that could be enjoyed on repeat play throughs… taxing you on your ability to hone skills, learn patterns, and memorize the best paths, with the ability to replay and sharpen those skills to a razor’s edge.

Barring a few examples today, many games don’t even get off the ground in the first hour, and by the time I reach hour 10, I’m usually hoping the game is almost over so that I can play something else.

Just the old musings of a TiredGamer.

lucasnooker1d 2h ago

Seeing it slowly die before our eyes unfortunately. Just the odd few gems left

Dexterio1d 2h ago (Edited 1d 2h ago )

Is getting boring with less innovation and fun in gameplay.

TheColbertinator21h ago

Some gamers are wondering if the hobby of gaming is leaving them. In a sense yes. Same as music or movies, there will not always be a comfort era provided for you especially if you have an attachment to a different era of gaming and the philosophy behind that era's quality. Same with film. There was a time when I hated superhero movies, a time I loved them and now I hate watching them again. This happened to me with FPS games. I played MW2019 and Black Ops Cold War like a religion. And now BO7 puts me to sleep. We move on and/or mainstream gaming moves past us.

Kotick Made $155 million from MS in the buyout, the little b*tch needs to stop whining. Thanks to this Microslop deal and massive industry consolidation thousands upon thousands of devs and other workers lost their livelihoods. This greedy piggie pervert needs shut up and f-off.
