You have to really dig into it to find any resemblance with the first games. Guild Wars 2 is a great evolution in the series and the genre.

I played it a little years ago. It was fun but I had children after I started playing and gave it up so my wife wouldn’t hate me. I got to 50 and then hung it up
Arenanet is doing smthn wrong with marketing, I never once seen an ad for a gw2 expansion and always hear it like this once an expac is already released. Not that I would play it cause I'm a gw1 purist haha
