Will Crysis 3 Return Home?

Crysis was a visual masterpiece in a lush open world. Crysis 2 was a great looking tunnel. Which will be the path for Crysis 3?

Loved the first one. The second one, not so much. Not sure they can rebound after the second one.

Then to add to this aren't they coming out with some system to track stats or gameplay?

PrisonedBeast5131d ago

I think that could be either awesome or terrible but only time will tell. I just don't get whats so advanced about a bow and arrow?

JLesinski5131d ago

I was lucky enough to get a review copy and participate in the beta for Crysis 2 and I think that the idea was good but it wasn't nearly as polished as it could or should have been.

This series is going to continue to become more console oriented. It sucks but they'll make double the money with less work needed.

Lets not forget they work closely with EA. We all know EA has the same idea as Actavision. Every games needs a yearly sequel.

This series is going to die a slow death.

PrisonedBeast5131d ago

Yeah unfortunately I think it might go down in quality as well :(

MrBeatdown5130d ago (Edited 5130d ago )

How does being console oriented automatically mean "double the money with less work"?

And EA publishes. That's it. Crysis 2 didn't even have an online pass. It's not going to become some yearly release just because EA wants it to be. Hell, EA doesn't even do that with anything other than NFS and their sports games.

PrisonedBeast5130d ago

Umm Yeah Crysis 2 did have an online pass for PC along with the regular activation code.

MrBeatdown5130d ago

@PrisonedBeast

So, you're telling me that the PC version of Crysis 2 had an online pass, but the 360 and PS3 versions didn't? Right.

N4G, where commenters who obviously never played a game will try to run it down based on random stuff they saw people post in other forums.

When logic meets EA it generates anti-matter ..... so try not to apply it in any meaningful way. Entropy is what matters in there !!

cue the apologist saying that these are mostly just contractors hired for this specific project bla bla bla

The community warned them this would happen but nope they knew better they continued with the live service push the made the art style cartoonish and this is the result

isarai_lee67d ago

It's always so bizarre when studios announce something super early in development under the suggestion of forming the game to player feedback, and then they push against all feedback heading straight for the cliff while everyone is warning them along the way

US Lawmakers Urge Review Of EA Sale

The Congressional Labor Caucus sent a letter to the FTC warning the debt-financed, largely PIF-owned deal could be bad news for workers

lol ya think? they're sending all that work to the cheaper labor market as soon as possible. and FYI, that labor market has exploded in the last 5-10 years. They have enough people to replace every single job. But honestly, EA is over filled with useless upper management as it is. You could probably trim 25% of their staff with no real loss in production. They aren't gamers, they're business execs. Just look at how many AI related jobs they're already starting to post. Its also hilarious that PIF owns Battle field 6

Wait,

The same congress that attacked Lina Khan when she fought the Microsoft Activision purchase.
The same congress that allowed Disney to buy 90% of Fox
The same congress that allowed Liv Golf to buy the PGA
The same congress that sits back while Paramount tries a hostile takeover despite losing the bid for Warner Bros.

NOW, the suddenly cares about doing what's "right" for works? Yeah, right.

No. There were elections and some of the scum were replaced.

TheColbertinator101d ago

Different elections. Different scum. Same results.

i know its a long shot, but i hope this gets shot down.

EA now owned by The Saudis and Ubisoft to inevitably be owned by China. In hindsight, once EA and Ubisoft started having their financial woes, they should have pulled a Koei Tecmo/Bandai Namco by merging their operations into one.
