See why a player believes that modern games have lost the charm that immortalized classic releases.
A new Skyrim Switch 2 update delivers major visual upgrades, surpassing some console settings, but locks the game to 30fps and introduces noticeable input lag.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim lead designer Bruce Nesmith explains that the game's bucket stealth was an unintended feature of the game.

Lordbound is finally here.
No there are plenty of experiences I would love to see more of. If you don't want to play any experience more than once then you don't have to there a bunch of different platforms with dozens of new games every week there are no experiences out there if you are willing to look for them, and if more people buy them more you will see. There is plenty of great experiences that can be gained from iterative design, imagine if Uncharted had stopped at 1 or MGS or Diablo or Starcraft or Mortal Kombat etc? We would never have gotten dozens of great games, in fact we wouldn't have gotten some of the best games of all time. New experiences are great but they are often not quite right the first time or even the 2nd or 3rd, reusing and refining experiences is the core of any creative art form.
But when the writer of the article says the only game he finished last year was Uncharted 3 it's clear that recycled experiences isn't his problem anyway...
Oh and Disney kind of did, they have been making Micky mouse cartoons since 1928 and it's not like Snow white is the last fairytale based princess movie they ever made.
Nintendo took their most cherished franchise IP, and fully incorporated motion controls into the title. It takes courage to do something of that caliber - they've even alienated themselves from the people who detest motion controlled gameplay!
Would you rather different shoes made by the same company, or different companies making the same shoes, but with different colours (Nintendo being the former)?.
The problem is that people buy games even though they know they will be crappy. That and people don't support new IPs, therefore new IPs aren't made because they're too much of a risk.
Gamers should stop buying sequels and buy new ips. New ips are risky because PS3/360 development cost are high. That is why a majority of japanese developers are on the DS/PSP.
The same can be said about books and movies. For every truly original title, there's a ton of derivative crap to sift through. Some derivative crap is just more popular with the masses, so it gets recycled again and again.
