What Really went Wrong with Battlefield 3

@BattlefieldLOG: "Battlefield 3 was arguably the most anticipated First person shooter of 201. So why is there suddenly Battlefield players moving over to MW3 or taking a break from Battlefield because of their experiences with Battlefield 3? Today that's what we will be looking at; what went wrong with Battlefield 3."

poor implimentation,wasn't a true BF experience,gameplay awkward.

StanLee5233d ago

What was promised and what was delivered were two different things, especially on consoles. The console game did not feel like a sequel to Battlefield 2. It played and felt like Battlefield Bad Company 2.5.

hotskys5233d ago

except bad company 2 is better.

ginsunuva5233d ago

Console versions felt awkward and maps were empty because it was designed almost completely for pc. Some with a good pc like me appreciate this, but I also feel for those only on console because they got a fantastic pc game that does not translate to consoles.

ThanatosDMC5233d ago

BF3 on PC is fine but damn, it's plagued by hackers at night. Nothing like getting mowed down from across the map to empty out half the server.

farhad2k85232d ago

Luckily, I'm one of those who bought it for my PS3 AND my PC. As the PS3 version was struggling with graphics, and also online play, I quickly switched to the PC version where all was well and beautiful.

I still think EA/DICE could have done a better job, and I think that would be possible with the next BF if they simply stop focusing on CoD so much. They need to throw CoDs success out of the window, that way, they can focus on BATTLEFIELD, and what makes battlefield.. BATTLEFIELD.

CoD will never get beaten, it's the new Facebook, the only way it dies, is when it kills it self. So please EA/DICE, stop focusing on their game so much, and worry about your own.

Battlefield players moved to MW3? Doubt it.

cr33ping_death5233d ago

you doubt it??? im sure the writer took a peek through my window and saw me changing games from Battlefield 3 to a non existent copy of MW3.. clearly he knows what he speaks of... :) yeah the writer is reaching.

scrambles5233d ago

BF players never EVER EVER go to CoD. The people who went to CoD probably were the ones who jumped on the BF bandwagon on BF3 and went "yaaaaaay this isnt CoD!" but realised it was too much for them or something so they went back to CoD.

Hufandpuf5233d ago

ikr, Bandwagon COD players thought BF3 would be the COD they wanted, but realized it wasn't COD and went back to COD.

farhad2k85232d ago

"BF players never EVER EVER go to CoD."
Me and around 8 of my friends are BF fanboys, but we've been playing more MW3 since it launched. The reason why we play MW3 is because it's not as serious as BF3, and when playing fast paced game modes such as 'Drop Zone', it has WAY LESS CAMPERS than BF3, in my own experience. This is what I feel, don't attack MY opinion just because you think other wise. Thanks.

_Aarix_5233d ago

By itself, it wasnt as good as it was meant to be. People just see it as a COD alternative.

Punch-o5233d ago (Edited 5233d ago )

It just don't feel right.

I went back to Bad company 2.

xabmol5233d ago

I sold BF3 to buy back BC2.

It's like they just sucked the fun out and moved some furniture around. >.>

Asgaro5232d ago

Why the hate?

It is BF3, not BF BAD COMPANY 3.

xabmol5226d ago

@Asgaro

Do you always answer your own questions? xP

Akiba965233d ago

I dont understand what people find wrong with this game.

When logic meets EA it generates anti-matter ..... so try not to apply it in any meaningful way. Entropy is what matters in there !!

cue the apologist saying that these are mostly just contractors hired for this specific project bla bla bla

The community warned them this would happen but nope they knew better they continued with the live service push the made the art style cartoonish and this is the result

isarai_lee81d ago

It's always so bizarre when studios announce something super early in development under the suggestion of forming the game to player feedback, and then they push against all feedback heading straight for the cliff while everyone is warning them along the way

US Lawmakers Urge Review Of EA Sale

The Congressional Labor Caucus sent a letter to the FTC warning the debt-financed, largely PIF-owned deal could be bad news for workers

lol ya think? they're sending all that work to the cheaper labor market as soon as possible. and FYI, that labor market has exploded in the last 5-10 years. They have enough people to replace every single job. But honestly, EA is over filled with useless upper management as it is. You could probably trim 25% of their staff with no real loss in production. They aren't gamers, they're business execs. Just look at how many AI related jobs they're already starting to post. Its also hilarious that PIF owns Battle field 6

Wait,

The same congress that attacked Lina Khan when she fought the Microsoft Activision purchase.
The same congress that allowed Disney to buy 90% of Fox
The same congress that allowed Liv Golf to buy the PGA
The same congress that sits back while Paramount tries a hostile takeover despite losing the bid for Warner Bros.

NOW, the suddenly cares about doing what's "right" for works? Yeah, right.

No. There were elections and some of the scum were replaced.

TheColbertinator115d ago

Different elections. Different scum. Same results.

i know its a long shot, but i hope this gets shot down.

EA now owned by The Saudis and Ubisoft to inevitably be owned by China. In hindsight, once EA and Ubisoft started having their financial woes, they should have pulled a Koei Tecmo/Bandai Namco by merging their operations into one.
