In Scribblenauts Remix, created by 5TH Cell and developed by Iron Galaxy, gamers write any word, modify it with adjectives and bring that object to life to solve puzzles. To use the Scribble Speak voice feature, players simply tap on the keyboard microphone icon to create objects through speech. The text field populates with what the player said. Players can let their imaginations run wild by solving challenges with objects they’ve created such as a “robotic, plaid llama” or a “gigantic, candy-coated triceratops.”
While many indie games suffer from the same problems as their AAA peers, getting mired down in retreaded subject material and clichéd mechanics, the most interesting titles recognize their freedom and show no fear in taking advantage of it. At long last, 5th Cell has brought their innovative puzzler, albeit exclusively via the less-popular Amazon market. Nonetheless, the game isn’t exclusive to Kindle devices, and its long overdue arrival makes for a very welcome addition to the Android gaming landscape.
