Looking Back on Arcades

Goozernation reflects on what made Arcades popular back in the 80s and 90s. Most of the great arcades are gone and many gamers had their first gaming experiences there. Arcades were the center of social gaming at one time which has now been replaced with playing over networked consoles.

There were a couple arcade machines at our local pool when I was 11 or so. To this day the smell of chlorine and the taste of grape Laffy Taffy reminds me of Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter.

Street Fighters older than me. I still have some memories of playing Street Fighter on arcade machines up until the early 2000s.

I remember when Street Fighter 15th anniversary collection on original xbox was the very first ever online street fighter games. Those were good memories
