Lessons Learned From LIMBO (So Far)

Trevor of GAMElitist.com - "See, more than anything else I’ve played recently, LIMBO values itself as a game, not an interactive film or a work of escampism, but as a piece of interactive art."

Limbo is awesome, it reminds me of Half Life 1: it always knows how you are going to play it, it's like they pre-emptively read the player's mind :O Interactive narrative at its very best.

"The advent of 3D, voice-acting, and many other key presentation advancements made in games has made developers (and players) lazy."

No... it's the usage of the games industry as a money making tool that made... publishers lazy. Most of the 'lazy' gamers are very new to the whole thing and don't know any better yet. Us elitists were just born at a time when games could focus on being good and didn't have to focus on raking in the most cash. There are a decent number of good games recently though, but few people seem to play them.

Capcom says it wants Mega Man, Devil May Cry, and Ace Attorney to be 'core IPs' like Monster Hunter

Sorry if you were expecting Bionic Commando.

Actions speak louder than words. Show me a new Mega Man game that isn't a collection of games I played yesteryear. If they can churn out some kind of RE game every other year they can make a new Mega Man entry. It's not like it's known for its deep stories.

I can see DMC, but the others just weren't built for that without some major adjustments on how they're played.

lukasmain140d ago (Edited 140d ago )

If they make the right choices and right kinds of games, the Mega-Man IP could potentially be made into an animated film or streaming series like the success of Mario and Sonic. Surely that thought may have crossed their minds? Or am I being silly? I mean there is a lot more water to go under the bridge for them to even start considering that. But I used to be a big mega-man fan back in the day. I'd love to see it happen.

It’s being done on purpose just to destroy inafune . It’s some pride stuff on the inside .

blacktiger140d ago

all talk and if they launch it will cost $200

shinXseijuro140d ago

Just like the guys said . I’ll believe it when I see it . Even the shareholders are asking questions regarding Megaman . I don’t want to sound ludacris but I have a strong conviction that the heads at Capcom are purposely holding the Megaman IP down because of their grudge and spite towards inafune on some deeper Japanese honour code stuff . It’s deeper than we think . You can tell something isn’t right .

VersusDMC140d ago

Well i hope DMC is being worked on. Either a remake of 1 or 6 will do.

And bring back Megaman X. Either regular, command mission or make it a Metroidvania since silksong is so popular.

Can we have SH1 on PS Store?

SimpleSlave284d ago

It's crazy to think that GOG will have Silent Hill 1/2/4, Dino Crisis 2, and Resident Evil 2/3 before the PSN. What the actual fudge is Sony even doing over there?

FinalFantasyFanatic283d ago

I will probably pick up Silent Hill 1 right away if GOG gets it, I grabbed BOF4 as soon as it was released, haven't picked up Dino Crisis yet since I already bought it on PS.
