I was expecting a more open do what ever you want and meet intesting places and people game.

It felt more like a mid evil fall out.

I think the game that I want is not possible with the current console tech.

The game that I want is a mix of Uncharted,Grand Theft Auto,Dragon Age,God of War,Halo,Bioshock and Zelda.

It still carries some of the same minor annoyances oblivion had, like the fact that you sort of forget about the main story straight away. Also, the combat could be more (I think the word I'm looking for is) rigid.

You swing a sword and just like in oblivion it hurts the enemy, takes away hp, splatters a bit of blood, yet actually does nothing to the character. He'll still be swinging away at you even though your swing should have cleaved him in half. It feels like all you're doing is bashing R1 until the enemy is dead. I thought they maybe could have learned a bit from dark souls/demon's souls and made the combat more tactical and solid-feeling to encourage you to avoid attacks or block more often and rely on instinct instead of just buffing yourself and attacking again and again. But that's just me. I've always had a problem with the combat in elder scrolls and only takes away from my enjoyment a little bit because I love the loot.

to put it simply, yes, it's everything i expected. what i expected was a better version of Oblivion, and that's what i feel i got. sure, it's not perfect, but i can't stop playing it, and that's what matters most to me.

Yes. The most believable gaming world to date.

It's everything it should be and a masterpeice in its own right.

I wasn't expecting it to be better than Morrowind, so yes it's everything I expected ;)

It would be awesome if they could make combat feel like it does in Dark Souls. When you land a strike you feel it- both your character and the enemy react differently depending on the type / force of the strike. It makes for the most visceral combat experience I have ever had in a rpg.

Other than that- Skyrim is what I hoped. It's a great game. For me, between Dark Souls and Skyrim it's a great fall for rpg's.

Love It, my only complaint is that I thought the graphics on the PC would be a little better on the top end...Hopefully modders have gotten to work with this, lol

i have yet to try it but am hearing good things about it!!

My number one complaint about Oblivion was the levelling up system. This seems to be massively improved with Skyrim so it has far exceeded my expectations.

I have yet to play either but im also hearing great things... makes me just wanna buy it. hmm
