Lag Issues Affecting Some Skyrim PS3 owners

GB : Skyrim is out and on all the platforms out there. We can say that the PC version is the most stable version out of the three platforms, but there is one issue on the PS3 that brings down all the advantages it has – Better textures, slightly better graphics than the Xbox 360 version and that issue is – lag.

Lol what a total load of crap, the PC version does exactly the same thing, turn off autosave to get rid of any actual freezing issues.

Karooo5340d ago

But as you can see in that proof, does it happen that way?

Spitfire_Riggz5340d ago

Oblivion used to freeze on me a lot. Just save frequently thats all

DonaldBeck5340d ago

pretty much all of there games are laggy, but there still awesome.

Yeah, Bethesda is really bad when it comes to PS3 coding. If you're a multiconsole owner the 360 version would probably be better, their games always seem to run smoother on that platform.

As a PS3 only owner, I've overlooked the bad coding in Fallout 3 and NV, I hope to get Skyrim and enjoy that as well.

DonaldBeck5340d ago

what differences do you see? does the ps3 look like ps2 graphics or something? or is it at 10 frames per second? lol, jk. from what i seen both versions look the same.

DarkTower8055340d ago

Same here, got plats on 3 and NV, will be picking up Skyrim as soon as i'm done with Uncharted 3, LA Noire and Mass Effect 2.

@DonaldBeck, in NV I would occasionally get MASSIVE frame rate drops and lag. But like most I've overlooked those because the games were so enjoyable and memorable. Visuals between both consoles are the same, but 360 versions don't seem to have fr drops as bad.

The lighting is one of the larger differences in graphics between the 360 and PS3. The PS3 version looks a little more blurry and less shadow detail on items. However, there are places where en entire tree shadow is perfectly rendered on the PS3, but the same shadow is a round black blob on the 360.

TO me, it looked less like one platform is superior to the other, more of a matter of preference for the aesthetic. I don't have a 360, so I'll probably get this on PS3.

I have the Ps3 version. and no Lag

DonaldBeck5340d ago

yeah, same here, if i experience lag its cool though, im enjoying this game too much to be worried about a little lag here and then ;)

NotSoSilentBob5340d ago

It isn't lag. It is bad coding and shoddy Beta testing.

Ethereal5340d ago

There is no way they could ever polish this game or type of game to perfection. I can only imagine the amount of code that is running real time. You could fix one bug and 10 more will spawn from it. These games will have small issues, period. It's not about bad codding or bad testers. The game simple has to much going on and to many variables.

Real life has small issues with it. Even though matter anti-matter annihilation is supposed to be perfect, about 1 part of matter in 30,000,000,000,000 matter anti-matter collisions fails to be annihilated.

So if real life can't get this stuff perfect, I doubt a lowly game developer can;p

they can't get a 14 year old game to run smoothly?

jjb1981195d ago

That's ridiculous, lol. I'm waiting for the guy that says its too cpu-intensive for the Switch 2. This game is old af and has been released like 17 times.
