The Elders Scroll's Skyrim - Xbox 360, Ps3 & PC comparison

Skyrim got a vast world with great graphics and gameplay. But how does it compare in between the platforms? Youtube user Robbaz give us the answer.

Good comparison.

PC version is top dog as expected, but the consoles more than hold their own. The PS3 version has better shadows than the 360 version for sure, but the 360 version has slightly better textures. All in all the game looks amazing on all 3.

PC Version clearly looks sharper and more detailed of the bunch. In comparison both the console versions look a bit blurry, textures dont seem as detailed.

Whats cool is PC version can be maxed out on a GTX 275 which is about 3 years old now.

Also its not just about the graphics, PC version easily runs at 60fps. Lastly this isnt the end for the PC version, console versions will remain stagnant from a graphics perspective, Mods will only make PC better overtime.

Are you trying to sell me a copy of the pc version? Because I already got a 360 version.

Console version can be played on a big screen TV without forfeiting your dignity.

Iroquois_Pliskin5308d ago (Edited 5308d ago )

lol ps3 HAS the upper hand on the textures. Something is wrong with this comparison.

A tip dont watch this comparison in Full HD because its upscaled and looks like sh*t

heres a better side-by-side comparison:

But we are missing the big picture here. It's still the same game we are playing. You think just because the shadow looks slightly better that it makes the game better? C'mon people lets not miss the big picture.

When you watch it, the PC version looks tonnes better than the 360. When you look at PS3 turning into 360, so much seemed to change around 1:03. For the better of course.

I have to disagree. The PS3 version looked slightly better than the Xbox360 version. Having said that, I don't really care because I'm playing it on PC :)

Chuk55308d ago

@live
You can see that 360 version has sharper textures. Especially when you watch the video in hd.

meant2live345304d ago

@Chuk5 Now that I look closer, you're right. It's just that the shadows seem to look better on PS3. But no matter, I'm rockin' the PC for this game :)

burgerman5308d ago

The differences are so small. I expected a lot better on the PC. It doesn't matter what system you get it for.

bumnut5308d ago (Edited 5308d ago )

I have the PC version and some of the textures are not far off PS1 quality.

The moss on the rocks near the start of the game is terrible.

Great game though, ES games have never been about amazing visuals.

A-Glorious-Dawn5308d ago

yeah I went for PC for the mods, and 60 fps is a bug plus IMO

lastdual5308d ago

Looks like Bethesda actually did a great job on every platform.

I was watching this and then the gameplay just got so awesome that I forgot about graphics.

they can't get a 14 year old game to run smoothly?

That's ridiculous, lol. I'm waiting for the guy that says its too cpu-intensive for the Switch 2. This game is old af and has been released like 17 times.
