The Ps3 version looks slightly more washed out than the 360, but it's so incremental(and given Bethesda's problems with porting to the ps3 in the past) it's not super noticeable.

RedDead5295d ago

It#s like the difference between Medium and low on PC imo

eddvdm5295d ago (Edited 5295d ago )

I have to agree.. after playing on PC @ High, Xbox without hires pack looks [like a] Low, sorry =/

EDIT: I mean only the textures, the rest I guess it's the same (apart from distance view etc etc)

nveenio5295d ago

I've been disappointed with the draw distance on PC, actually. I'm playing on Ultra with all draw distances cranked to as high as they can go, and the tiling of the ground is really bad (makes me actually wish for MegaTextures....)

With regard to PS3 vs. 360, what happened to Bethesda? Remember Oblivion? Oblivion looked and performed much better on the PS3, but it's like a major fluke because every game since then has been crapped on. Sad.

slayorofgods5295d ago (Edited 5295d ago )

I actually think they could have done more with the pc graphics. If you want good graphics Witcher 2 still sets the bar.

Bethesda is more known for their scripting, and that is where this game shines.

Iroquois_Pliskin5294d ago

they definetely tampered with the ps3 settings, mine doesnt look all that washed out

MaxXAttaxX5294d ago (Edited 5294d ago )

It never looks washed out when actually playing the PS3 version of any game on your screen.

Other than that, this is video footage:

And it tells a very different story.

thats a shame, the ps3 version looks like its missing a layer of sheen like it always does when ported. it shouldnt really make any difference but when you feel like you're missing out on a better experience its kind of a bummer.

This HD video comparison seems to tell a different story:

People ought to know by now that Lens of Truth is not a trustworthy source for platform comparisons.

Army_of_Darkness5294d ago

wtf?! okay my mind has changed.. ps3 looks much better than the 360 version! lol

Ser5294d ago (Edited 5294d ago )

@Statix

Anyone who disagreed with your comment is enjoying a nice bowl of sour grapes.

That video doesn't lie. Look at the differences in the textures.

slayorofgods5295d ago

360 has better shadow effects.

Kran5295d ago (Edited 5295d ago )

The Xbox 360 version looks so much sharper, while the PS3 version looks lighter.

Sorry N4G but Xbox 360 looks better!

Although.... what about PC? Hmmm Although isnt the PC version just a 360 port, hence the controller support? I might be totally wrong.

fluffydelusions5295d ago (Edited 5295d ago )

Agreed, the 360 version looks better in every single screenshot here though the PS3 in one shot does look to have better shadows? The biggest factor is performance though so I'll wait and see which performs better. I'm hoping it gets posted soon since gamestop opens in 2hrs. Just want to see the best system to purchase it for.

A-Glorious-Dawn5295d ago

The PC version just a 360 port?

so they made the game on the 360 am I right?

30 mins to go before I can launch up this badboy (PC)

Statix5294d ago

This HD video comparison seems to show the PS3 version looking better (better HDR, more detailed shadows, better textures):

I think all of us should know by now not to trust Lens of Truth when it comes to platform comparisons. At least wait for a more reputable site like Digital Foundry to post a comparison up. Any site is more trustworthy and credible than Lens of Truth.

MasterCornholio5295d ago (Edited 5295d ago )

Bethesda did a pretty good job with the PS3 version. I honestly thought it would be a lot worse but there's hardly any difference between the two console versions. I should get mine for my PS3 in a day or two.

Im glad that PS3 owners didn't get a crappy port like many idiots on N4G were saying. Now those idiots will go on the defensive and try and convince everyone that the 360 version is a million times better than the PS3 one when in the end they are almost the same.

@Kran

This user is a perfect example of what i am talking about. He is claiming that the resolution of the 360 version is a lot higher than the PS3 one. When in reality it isn't.

Kran5295d ago

I said it LOOKED sharper. That doesn't mean I think the resolution is higher. Get it right!

DigitalRaptor5294d ago

Who takes Lens of Truth's findings seriously these days when:

#1 the washed out look that's always in their PS3 screens is not present in actual gameplay on an HD screen in my living room.

#2 http://youtu.be/55P2W3F26sA - video evidence like this exists that ruins their comparison?

vikingland15295d ago

the 360 looks darker and imop better from being darker and some of the ps3 screens not everything has loaded.I think the 360 prob runs smoother because it loaded everything in the pics anyways.

MasterCornholio5295d ago (Edited 5295d ago )

Like Crysis 2 it looked sharper on the 360 because it had a higher resolution. I understood what you said.

Anyways I still believe that skyrim will still be a fantastic title to play on my PS3 despite the PS3 version being 1% inferior. No one is going to prevent me from enjoying the game.

they can't get a 14 year old game to run smoothly?

jjb1981150d ago

That's ridiculous, lol. I'm waiting for the guy that says its too cpu-intensive for the Switch 2. This game is old af and has been released like 17 times.
