Should We Be Concerned About First-Day Patches?

PSXExtreme: This news broaches an interesting question, one that isn't dissimilar from the downloadable content question.

It has been revealed that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will require a day one patch when it releases later this week. In an e-mail Bethesda sent to us, that patch will address "some minor stability and quest progression issues." We got no further details.

I would be more pissed if the game was broken at launch with no patch.

It's clearly not broken on release. They said that this patch fixes some secondary quests issues (maybe some journal non updating and such). Calm down people.

It's better than a day 18 patch. At least with day 1 patches I don't feel like a beta tester for those who buy the GOTY edition a year down the line.

That's ridiculous, lol. I'm waiting for the guy that says its too cpu-intensive for the Switch 2. This game is old af and has been released like 17 times.
