EA’s CEO Comments on Battlefield 3 Server Problems

So far it’s been smooth sailing for Battlefield 3 in the sales department, but as anyone who’s played the game online can testify to, all these boats are creating a turbulent wake in the mercurial waters known as the EA servers. Players of both the PC and console versions alike have frequently been subject to lagging, time-outs, and full on server outages.

They need to fix the dam Mics on PS3, every time I'm with my friends playing online, the mics have some serious issues...

the mic keeps chopping in and out, and sometimes your squad can't hear you at all... works fine when I start the squad but as soon as the match starts.. mics go all fuzzy

I don't get it because mics worked fine in Bad company 2

dam it, fix the mics...

-It's so annoying, when your trying to tell your squad he's at the base setting the charge kill him, and the mic is not working.. WTF.. DICE..

all the chopping in and out is ridiculous...

Origin+battlebloat=fail

Im very dissapointed and i hope Bioware doesnt screw up the Swtor launch.

@disagrees

Am i wrong to expect better from a billion dollar company for the launch of their biggest game this year, that had a big beta to avoid these type of problems. Im not dissapointed in the game's multiplayer itself but just ea still not knowing how to work servers only thing they know to do with servers is shutting them down.

I don't think you're wrong. It's shit that they said they released that crappy beta for sever testing and to make sure it doesn't go down on launch day/night.

And it did.

Serves EA right for talking so much smack against COD this time around. That 83 or 84 on metacritic for the 360 isn't looking too pretty right now.

majiebeast5354d ago (Edited 5354d ago )

I think we shouldnt have bad mouthed Battlefield even though its about EA's incompetence to get the servers running stable, and not DICE who made a great game. Bf3 Loyalists are foaming at the mouth because of it.

miDnIghtEr20C_SfF5354d ago

I can agree with that as well.

Happens all the time.

People still haven't noticed the pattern. For example, I still meet people to this day that think GTA IV on PC is poorly optimized. Then I show them some youtube videos and they get that dumb look on their face...

Shadowaste5354d ago

pc version works perfectly for me, been playing since midnight launch, had one or two disconnects from server in the 100 or so games i've played, hopped right onto another!

When logic meets EA it generates anti-matter ..... so try not to apply it in any meaningful way. Entropy is what matters in there !!

badz149106d ago

cue the apologist saying that these are mostly just contractors hired for this specific project bla bla bla

The community warned them this would happen but nope they knew better they continued with the live service push the made the art style cartoonish and this is the result

isarai_lee118d ago

It's always so bizarre when studios announce something super early in development under the suggestion of forming the game to player feedback, and then they push against all feedback heading straight for the cliff while everyone is warning them along the way

US Lawmakers Urge Review Of EA Sale

The Congressional Labor Caucus sent a letter to the FTC warning the debt-financed, largely PIF-owned deal could be bad news for workers

lol ya think? they're sending all that work to the cheaper labor market as soon as possible. and FYI, that labor market has exploded in the last 5-10 years. They have enough people to replace every single job. But honestly, EA is over filled with useless upper management as it is. You could probably trim 25% of their staff with no real loss in production. They aren't gamers, they're business execs. Just look at how many AI related jobs they're already starting to post. Its also hilarious that PIF owns Battle field 6

Wait,

The same congress that attacked Lina Khan when she fought the Microsoft Activision purchase.
The same congress that allowed Disney to buy 90% of Fox
The same congress that allowed Liv Golf to buy the PGA
The same congress that sits back while Paramount tries a hostile takeover despite losing the bid for Warner Bros.

NOW, the suddenly cares about doing what's "right" for works? Yeah, right.

No. There were elections and some of the scum were replaced.

TheColbertinator152d ago

Different elections. Different scum. Same results.

i know its a long shot, but i hope this gets shot down.

EA now owned by The Saudis and Ubisoft to inevitably be owned by China. In hindsight, once EA and Ubisoft started having their financial woes, they should have pulled a Koei Tecmo/Bandai Namco by merging their operations into one.
