Battlefield 3 could be a better CoD than CoD, but should it really try to be?

Gamesradar - Is Battlefield’s take on CoD as good as CoD’s? Does it negatively affect what makes Battlefield Battlefield? And should the attempt have even been made?

The two are completely different beasts. Why can't someone enjoy both. Shouldn't that be a third option.

MariaHelFutura5372d ago (Edited 5372d ago )

This is so stupid. BF3 and COD have nothing common besides the perspective their played from. I'm beginning to question if these "journalists" have even played BF2 at all.

JimboG5372d ago

@MariaHelFutura

Nothing in common at all?

EazyC5372d ago

Silly statement to make.

MariaHelFutura5372d ago (Edited 5372d ago )

No they have nothing in common asides from being a FPS. Let's compare Crysis2 online and BF2. You shoot bullets. Or R3 and Operation Flash Point. You again shoot bullets.

BF is about large scale team combat and COD is about throwing a grenade across the map and killing 6 people.

RayRay365372d ago

Ummmm, did you forget the whole 'Modern Warfare' thing?

Genghis5372d ago

EA are the ones making the direct comparison. Above and beyond the call? gimme a break

Props to the activision for not following ensuite

evrfighter5372d ago (Edited 5372d ago )

And this title is why gamesradar just lost all credibility

And @ rayray

The modern warfare setting belongs to cs, 1942 desert combat, and bf2.

Cod is the clone here

It's all hype and only a win for the PC crowd at the same time saving face by way of the PS3.

WANNAGETHIGH5372d ago

Choose which ever game u want, this is getting really old and boring fast. Jesus.

InNomeDiDio5372d ago

BF3 > MW3 in terms of technology, visuals, gameplay, community, features and multiplayer. COD is the same since part 4. At least DICE tries to push the technology further and bring us some amazingly realistic warfare.

"I did it all, I did it frequently and I had the best time I’ve had since… well, since the last time I played full-scale Battlefield multiplayer."

Sounds like he had the time of his life. I can't wait!

Relientk775372d ago

Battlefield fans want Battlefield to be like Battlefield. Not for it to be like Call of Duty. They want it to deliver a different experience from the Call of Duty experience

CAPSLOCKFURY5372d ago (Edited 5372d ago )

Truer words were never typed. Now if people could just get that through their heads.

solidsnake2225372d ago

How many more times can they be compared. Just buy both, one, or neither. It's simple!

StrongMan5372d ago

NO. That's what killed the Resistance 2 and 3 multi player.

When logic meets EA it generates anti-matter ..... so try not to apply it in any meaningful way. Entropy is what matters in there !!

cue the apologist saying that these are mostly just contractors hired for this specific project bla bla bla

The community warned them this would happen but nope they knew better they continued with the live service push the made the art style cartoonish and this is the result

isarai_lee123d ago

It's always so bizarre when studios announce something super early in development under the suggestion of forming the game to player feedback, and then they push against all feedback heading straight for the cliff while everyone is warning them along the way

US Lawmakers Urge Review Of EA Sale

The Congressional Labor Caucus sent a letter to the FTC warning the debt-financed, largely PIF-owned deal could be bad news for workers

lol ya think? they're sending all that work to the cheaper labor market as soon as possible. and FYI, that labor market has exploded in the last 5-10 years. They have enough people to replace every single job. But honestly, EA is over filled with useless upper management as it is. You could probably trim 25% of their staff with no real loss in production. They aren't gamers, they're business execs. Just look at how many AI related jobs they're already starting to post. Its also hilarious that PIF owns Battle field 6

Wait,

The same congress that attacked Lina Khan when she fought the Microsoft Activision purchase.
The same congress that allowed Disney to buy 90% of Fox
The same congress that allowed Liv Golf to buy the PGA
The same congress that sits back while Paramount tries a hostile takeover despite losing the bid for Warner Bros.

NOW, the suddenly cares about doing what's "right" for works? Yeah, right.

No. There were elections and some of the scum were replaced.

TheColbertinator157d ago

Different elections. Different scum. Same results.

rlow1157d ago

i know its a long shot, but i hope this gets shot down.

EA now owned by The Saudis and Ubisoft to inevitably be owned by China. In hindsight, once EA and Ubisoft started having their financial woes, they should have pulled a Koei Tecmo/Bandai Namco by merging their operations into one.
