Battlefield 3 Beta Bugged Down

GUFUyourself Writes - "Now, let’s get one thing straight before I begin: Battlefield 3 is a fine game indeed, with solid shooting mechanics and fun squad based gameplay – when it works.

Unfortunately for many players of the newly released open beta, it simply hasn’t been working. Internet forums have been flooded with complaints about horrific bugs ranging from graphical glitches to full on crashes, and amongst the praise of the action there has been an outpouring of disappointment with the state of it’s release."

I agree. Many people can't look past what they see, rather than what they feel. I've seen so many complaints on battle log, but when I see their stats, they only have 1 hour playtime, or 12 kills (really). People aren't giving it an honest try and are judging it at face value rather than what it's offering. I bet if the game on consoles had amazing graphics but BFBC2 play style, people would like it. But I wouldn't, because this is BF3 not bfbc3.

zeeshan5365d ago

Tooooo many bugs. Just way too many even for a beta. I am disappointed with the gameplay as well. It is so hard to see your enemy and i am not the run and gun type either.

Thats why you can't see anyone.

So there seems to be some confusion around what a beta is. That is why I am posting this in order to clear it up :)

When a new game is created or updated, there are several stages in development before the product can be sold in the commercial marketplace. You might remember our Alpha Trial from July which was the first stage, in which the game is tested by software testers and gamers. A beta version is the name for the second stage of software testing.

The beta version of a software release is considered to be a preview. It has most of the standard features, but is not yet ready for wide release or sale. During this point, the studio will collect feedback from users about the product's usability — what they like and what should be changed — before the game´s wide release. A beta version of a game can be either a closed beta, which is limited to a specific group of users, or an open beta, which is available for the general public to use.

Today, most games are first released in beta version for testing.

they have 12 kills because theyre crashing out after that. lol. your not going to get to many kills with major glitches.

Ghoul5365d ago (Edited 5365d ago )

hmm i made 35 : 10 on my first map in the beta (ps3) sure it was a lil glitchy

but it worked and its a beta, man i love this game.

12 kills? Did he check their deaths? :L

People have a right to be worried. The game comes out in 25 days and if this what people are expected to find in the retail version, then they have a right to complain. Has this game even gone gold yet? They should of released a multiplayer demo, as opposed to this. Most dudebros don't even know beta stands for. The lack of vehicles and map variety just results in an after taste of repetition.

Dart895366d ago

Only thing i've experienced was i backed out to join a friend and it just kept saying loading at the bottom right corner other than that no hard freezes or anything.

PS3 version if your wondering.

Foxgod5365d ago

Its called a beta for a reason.

BXbomber5365d ago

u still alive?? where have u been? u are known as the biggest troll on this site.

ElDorado5365d ago

Fuck all the hate. I still remember all the hate on the freezing issues with the Bad Company 2 Beta and a lot more bugs and look what happened with the game. Everyone loved it except for the hardcore Battlefield 2 fanbase (which I also consider myself, but still Bad Company 2 was amazing). The only thing I kinda dislike is the health, it's too easy to kill someone. In the Bad Company-series you could run away and return and then kill the guy who almost killed you. Just way until the game releases and then judge it for yourself. Hating on a beta is just stupid.

EazyC5365d ago (Edited 5365d ago )

But the thing is that BC 2 had the right core mechanics, from the very beginning. BF 3 clearly doesn't share this trait.

ElDorado5365d ago (Edited 5365d ago )

My point is people are hating on a beta. Even if the beta was one week before the launch, you should just wait until the game releases and then you can shit on it if you want. Bad Company 2 Beta got so many hate, it was absurd and then it released everyone was happy. Everyone plays the beta, so you obviously have the CoD players who ruin the game, but when it releases it's the Battlefield core playing. Caspian Border is fucking amazing, ask the PC gamers. This is just one map with no vehicles and there is little destruction going on. A lot of things have been fixed in the beta, wait for the release you'll see. Battlefield 3 is going to be awesome, I'm sure of it.

Look at the hate:

Bad Company 2 was a succes, we all know that, but look at all the hate on a BETA.

EA Lays Off Staff Across All Battlefield Studios Following Record-Breaking Battlefield 6 Launch

EA is laying off an unknown number of individuals from across its Battlefield teams, including workers at Criterion, Dice, Ripple Effect, and Motive Studios, IGN understands.

When logic meets EA it generates anti-matter ..... so try not to apply it in any meaningful way. Entropy is what matters in there !!

The community warned them this would happen but nope they knew better they continued with the live service push the made the art style cartoonish and this is the result

isarai_lee102d ago

It's always so bizarre when studios announce something super early in development under the suggestion of forming the game to player feedback, and then they push against all feedback heading straight for the cliff while everyone is warning them along the way

US Lawmakers Urge Review Of EA Sale

The Congressional Labor Caucus sent a letter to the FTC warning the debt-financed, largely PIF-owned deal could be bad news for workers

lol ya think? they're sending all that work to the cheaper labor market as soon as possible. and FYI, that labor market has exploded in the last 5-10 years. They have enough people to replace every single job. But honestly, EA is over filled with useless upper management as it is. You could probably trim 25% of their staff with no real loss in production. They aren't gamers, they're business execs. Just look at how many AI related jobs they're already starting to post. Its also hilarious that PIF owns Battle field 6

Wait,

The same congress that attacked Lina Khan when she fought the Microsoft Activision purchase.
The same congress that allowed Disney to buy 90% of Fox
The same congress that allowed Liv Golf to buy the PGA
The same congress that sits back while Paramount tries a hostile takeover despite losing the bid for Warner Bros.

NOW, the suddenly cares about doing what's "right" for works? Yeah, right.

No. There were elections and some of the scum were replaced.

Different elections. Different scum. Same results.

i know its a long shot, but i hope this gets shot down.

EA now owned by The Saudis and Ubisoft to inevitably be owned by China. In hindsight, once EA and Ubisoft started having their financial woes, they should have pulled a Koei Tecmo/Bandai Namco by merging their operations into one.
