GamingBlend: Sony is in a bit of a stalemate when it comes to next-generation talks. They’ve probably been in the news more than Microsoft or Nintendo when it comes to next-gen talks, mainly because everyone is looking at whether Sony will stick with a core design or will pull a Nintendo and try to go after the casual crowd. Well, recently Sony finally came forward about their true intentions for the PS4 and it basically revolves around the development lifecycle of the PS3, with the company saying that the next-gen console will arrive when developers can’t get anything else out of the PS3

Square Enix launches Final Fantasy X 25th anniversary site, revealing new Nomura art, books, music releases, and merchandise.
Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

A brutal reset, a smarter story, and a return to what made it great—Mortal Kombat (2011) revived the series.
15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.

Why did Sony push Shuhei Yoshida out of his role leading PlayStation's first-party games? He'd overseen some huge successes. Well, apparently, he didn't listen.
Yeah I can see that for sure. Shuhei Yoshida should have been in charge not Jim Ryan.
More confirmation that Jim Ryan is the culprit for what has happened to Sony. Hulst needs to go too. What sucks is that a lot of the good top heads at Sony are no longer there. I wish that guys that were forced out prematurely by Dumbo Jimbo like Shuhei and Layden came back.
Makes you wonder if MS even thought about hiring him after Phil and Sarah were leaving. He certainly couldn't make their situation any worse.
All the gamer/consumer lead heads are gone across PS and Xbox. shuhei gone phil's gone (questionable) but gone. The future of gaming is somewhat uncertain across the board.
2014 or 2015.
Hopefully longer just so I can save up for it for more time...
Well given the fact that Naughty Dog (for example) are now using 100% of the CPU (PPE and SPE's) all the time I would say that a new console isn't too far off.
Sure we don't know exactly what percentage is being used on each core, but I'd assume it is a healthy amount since they are surpassing Uncharted 3 in almost every way. Sure there is always optimization which could lead to better results, but it seems Sony 1st party devs are reaching this "limit".
I would expect to hear about the PS4 as early as E3 2012, at least an announcement or teaser. If not, then definitely E3 2013.
I dont care, i just want Deus Ex, Rage, Dark Souls, Skyrim and Battlefield "screw teh PS4"........*for now*
That sounds good. Very reasonable position they're taking. The PS4 can wait.
