Today, Amazon.com sits proudly as the world’s largest online retailer. This has been the case for sometime but it wasn’t until recently that I started going there for my gaming needs. For years, I would go to Electronics Boutique, Babbage’s, or GameStop to pick up the latest and greatest software and hardware. I picked these locations because I could trade in my used collections for shiny new games – or used ones if available. It made fiscal sense for me to shop there at the time, but I find that this is no longer the case.

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.

Spiders: "We're going to cut straight to the chase so you're not left wondering: After a long period without clear answers, we have received confirmation that Spiders is being liquidated.
What does it mean? This means the company as a whole no longer exists. We'll cease our functions immediately. The planned DLC will release via Nacon, and then-- well, that's it.
We're sorry that it's come to this and would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years.
If you have any questions or run into issues with your games, please contact Nacon directly as we'll no longer be able to reply."
No Gamestop still has better trade in values than Amazon. The trick is trading in your games when they have special deals going on. Right now you get an extra 40% trade in credit for if its towards E3 games like Uncharted 3 or Batman: Arkham Asylum.
I traded in Saints Row 2 the other day for $11.20(trading it in towards Uncharted 3) at Gamestop. The trade in value for SR2 at Amazon is $10.75 right now.
Before I sold SR2, I bought it used for $14 at Gamechamp. So I gt 80% of my cash back. For a game that came out in 2008, thats a DAMN good deal.
I did the same thing with Vanquish and I got 50 cents more than I would have gotten on Amazon.
they were my of trade-in of choice up until last week. They were the goto place but their new condition system is extremely flawed. You're better off going back to gamestop.
I bought the 4gb 360 w/kinect bundle and traded in the kinect...They tried to tell me it was in "acceptable" condition and not "like new" which brings the trade-in credit down significantly.
the kicker here is that the game was still sealed and the cords were never unwrapped. A well placed facebook message was all it took for me to get it sold.
Any game that im definately buying on release i go to gamestop.. Other than that i go to Amazon and i can get a new game cheaper than gamestop. For example a weeek after Alice madness returns came out i bought it from Amazon for 40 bucks new instead of 60 at gamestop
i would like amazon if i didnt have to wait to get my game, im one of those want to play now people, i buy my games at target cause i hate gamestop
Amazon is good online but GameStop is better for the fact you can just go to their store and get it.
But not all GameStops have workers that are smart or nice, are's has half & half right now. Sad part is the guy that has no idea about any other system but 360 is going to try to be a manager.
He didn't know PS3 uses a 2.5 hard drive (Or even the fact that you can replace the hard drive and it doesn't break warrity), plus he things Move works like the Wii remote.
Yeah he isn't to bright, plus my preorder on Elder Scolls 5th A. E.D. he end up changing it from 360 to PS3 (I wanted it on 360) and he has done that to alot of other people.
