dude.. i know u try to help out.. but the fact is that thing is just "approximate estimation" figures.. nobody knows how much all those things cost except for Sony.. the real and official figures hasnt been released yet by Sony.. so nobody really knows how much that thing cost... its just a guess of what the price should be and not the real one...

THE TRUTH, TheMART is right though. You won't hear EA saying that BD is useful for gaming. Or Konami. Or SqE. These fellow(s) are paid by Sony to make these games. These fellow(s) have to look nice and shiny in front of Sony. These fellows need to praise Sony and its technological achievements. So anyone hiding under Sonys paycheque will pretty much cry out any positive information they can find.

It’s not bad, but it can’t be taken seriously. When all common developers like EA / Konami / THQ etc will start praising BD then I’ll believe it. Not selected sources that are paid right now to like it whether or not they actually do like it.

Money sings, and Sony has enough money to make people sing a tune they want to hear. Don’t worry though, I’m sure your BD games will look great. Question is, with all this pressure from Sony to fill in the void will developers focus more on gameplay (polishing the bugs and what not) or will focus more on filling the void?? There’s no visual difference on the darkness between the ps3 and the x360. PS3 version will come with movies that people can watch and enjoy. So, there’s one dev telling you that BD isn’t really that useful for gaming.

Many developers have given blu ray praise its just your to closed minded to see it! No way in hell can you tell me 360 games look better on HDTVs than PS3 games, 1. PS3 hasn't been released yet and 2. PS3 game support 1080p!! the devs are loving the ps3 more than the 360 now...and the mart u said that sony pays them to tell these lies, but i havent heard alot of devs liking the 360, or at least as much as the ps3.

First off I own a 360 and I haven't been happy with it, which is my opinion. I don't think MS is pushing the limits of console technology and really it seems to me like they went the quick cash route! My opinions I don't hate MS I'm just not happy with there approach especially when they are the underdog and they seem to not be willing to go the extra lenght to beat the champ!!

P.S the HD-DVD add-on is only for movies, also MS sneaky PR screwed you again because devs don't know if you have a HDD or not so it really won't be used like with the PS2.

Oblivion, one of the biggest, best, most amazing games on 360 only uses half of the storage capacity of a DVD9. How is this possible? Good compression techniques, etc. With the larger storage space on Blu-ray discs, devs can be lazy and just throw everything on there uncompressed, etc. Blu-Ray drives read data at a slower rate than DVD drives, so having all this uncompressed data will lead to horrendous load times. Unless you want to install the game on the hard-drive, but once again the uncompressed data will take up huge amounts or space, especially on the 20gig version, so you could only have one or two games installed at once. Of course Developers like technology that makes their life easier, i.e. allows them to be LAZIER!

First I think the PS3 is going to be fun. It is a game console with good games ready to released. But most people’s opinion out side of PS2 fans that hope the PS3 is what gets rid of the XBOX360 is mixed. Like mine. I hope the PS3 dose well but I will not buy one until I see the system be a complete success. I have a 360 and have been watching the PS3 closely. But I am not exited yet. The Xbox was a thorn in the side to a lot of you PS2 fans out there mainly die to its raw power and online service. That is your only problem and it is ugly. If the 360 had an HD DVD drive and the PS3 used DVD9 you would be calling us stupid xbots for running behind Microsoft and supporting every thing they throw at us like hungry roaches.

PS3 controllers are charged thru USB ports. No extra batteries or chargers required.

If PS3 used DVD-9 we'd be pretty pissed. And though we and the PS3 developers would be mad at Sony for not going with a next-gen media format, we would also question why Microsoft would choose an inferior format for next-gen in the first place.

Blu-ray stores a hell of a lot more data per layer, and can support more layers per side than HD-DVD. So if MS chose to put HD-DVD as their standard format, a lot of eyebrows would be raised.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.
