I think this can be a good thing for the series, as long as its not overdone. Big if tough...

-Alpha5464d ago

This has always been a bad thing

StanLee5464d ago (Edited 5464d ago )

Damn, I was hoping it'll be more like Silent Assassin, my favorite in the series. It'll probably be more like Blood Money; run in a theater, shoot every one and run out the front door!

Coheno5464d ago

No not always! Assassins Creed is very accessible, definitely not a bad thing for that game... As long as they keep it to that I'll be fine!

Raf1k15464d ago (Edited 5464d ago )

Assassin's Creed was made accessible from the get go. I think what he means is that when devs have made an existing game sereies 'more accessible' in the past it's turned out bad.

why would making it more accessible make this game better.

its square enix messing with eidos again.

i want hitman to be as hardcore as pos.

dktxx25464d ago

The game needs a more intuitive way to play the game, obviously. Thats what a little more accessibility can add to it, if done right.

It has to be great after all this time

Organization XII5464d ago (Edited 5464d ago )

COD-like? F%^ you IO if that's your fanbase-target! Everyone wants to go casual these days! come on

mastiffchild5464d ago

Well, if they do it right everyone should be very please but I admit there's big room for a big, big mistake here. Thing is, we all know this kind of issue SHOULD be easily covered by a few difficulty levels but he seems to be talking about the WAY Hitman has played in the past and that cannot be altered from normal to hard difficulty-or e'd be playing, and they'd have to develop, two different games.

Hopefully I'm reading too much into this and it will be a case of just having a couple of easier settings this time round at easy and normal but I confess I am a little scared that IO are going to mess this up if they go too far and make wholesale changes to a well loved series just to appeal to a different base. the people they WANT to play it may well not even if they make the changes sop they need to be careful they don't end up with sod all here.

As I say, though, do it with difficulty and we should be OK as long as basic mechanics aren't dumbed down-which IS the concern for me. K&L has made me lose a lot of faith in IO to be frank, though, as I felt Dog Days was a con from the fugly hiding filter on down to the broken cover system. I was hoping just for more of the Agent 47 e know and relish so I am a little perturbed.

otacon685464d ago

In other words, they are making another shooter for cod kids. Go f*ck yourself...

Urrakia345464d ago

I honestly don't see why they are trying to make it more "accesible". All the previous Hitman games are not all that hard, it's just a matter of formulating a good strategy and carrying it out with precision along with a little quick thinking & improvisation too.

creamsoda5464d ago

It's not just about difficulty it's about toning down violence which is probably what they are gonna do.

Urrakia345464d ago

Oh really? I had no idea about that. Still, that's even more illogical. Toning down the violence in a video game which lets you play as a hitman that kills people for money? Doesn't make much sense to me.

How IO turned Hitman around, from Absolution to World of Assassination

When Hitman 3 recently changed its name to Hitman World of Assassination, fans had no idea how meaningful the moment was. On the outside it looked like a simple thing: Hitman 3 would now be known by this name and include levels from Hitman 2 and 3 - the trilogy would all be in one place. But on the inside, at IO Interactive, much more was going on.

You mean destroyed it with this tethered single-player campaign BS... And only the first few levels of the third modern game were on the disc! I'll never support this crap at any price-point! They've lost me as a customer.

Hitman is, and has been, a remarkable series developed by some of the best. Some are better than others, but every Hitman is challenging and fun.

Sure, there have been some stumbles and fumbles, but always in pursuit of the perfect Hitman game. The most recent trilogy is a masterclass in level design.
