If Skyrim can nail that again on a bigger, better stage with brighter, better stars, no other RPG will touch it this year. Or the next five.

E3's most anticipated title? Hardly.

Is anyone really expecting the game to be anything more than a prettier Oblivion with dragons?

Firstkn1ghT5479d ago

Huh??? What else do you want in this type of game? Machine guns and tanks??? Metro-sexual teens with lil cute yellow side kicks? Or a pimped out Cadillac with missile launchers?

Xof5479d ago

That's not the point. The point is that it's not exactly going to be something new or exciting or innovative, and therefore not the kind of game that should be on anyone's "most anticipated list." It's just another sequel. And not exactly one from a top-tier developer.

I'm surprised how much people love Oblivion, because honestly it was good but not as good as Morrowind. This is wy I can get so hyped for it and actually expect it too exceed my expectations. Oblivion was Bethesda's lowest point, imagine that, a game as good as Oblivion and it wasn't nearly their best....Skyrim has alot to live up to and more than likely will destroy whatever it pleases.

Also Xof....what is wrong with that, Morrowind, Oblvion and co remain very alike, but there is large enough differences with them. Never mind the fact that the problems Oblivion had are gone(except bugs maybe). Never mind the rebuilt engine or the Dragons. It's another Elder scrolls game.

Same could be said for Battle field 3, what's so different than it and BC2? Jets...more players, graphics. Doesn't matter, it is what it is, a great fu**ing game from a grea fu**ing series, what are you expecting from E3 that will be bigger than these?

Oblivion is hardly Bethesda's lowest point, try anything from Bethesda prior to Morrowind. Personally, I think Oblivion is the best game ever made by Bethesda (and one of the best games ever made). Oblivion has also been better received by critics, so yeah, which game you prefer seems to me to be a question of preferences. ANYWAY, let's hope Skyrim will make us all agree which game is the best in the series!

I don't understand all the hate for Oblivion. It's one of the few decent medieval RPGs with half decent combat mechanics.

What I would LOVE is God of War combat with hardcore RPG elements.

I'd like to see Bethesda make a post-apocalyptic open world sandbox game set on a future terraformed mars.

With dragons and elves and magic.

And zeppelins.

FUND IT.

As soon as ME3 was confirmed as 2012 release this game jumped straight to the top of my "Most Wanted" list.

they can't get a 14 year old game to run smoothly?

That's ridiculous, lol. I'm waiting for the guy that says its too cpu-intensive for the Switch 2. This game is old af and has been released like 17 times.
