As you all know already, id Software is developing their new IP, a game called RAGE that is set in post-apocalyptic wasteland in the near future. As a survivor, you will have a large arsenal of weapons at your disposal to get rid of various bandits, clans and mutants. There is precedent already with bungie separating from Microsoft but I doubt Microsoft will let them go out with their IP’s without paying a huge price
Good for them. From what I hear Microsoft supports it but unfortunately it still doesnt change much but its a step in the right direction. More devs across the entire industry should do this. But regardless, you just love to hate anything Microsoft or xbox. Who's fault is it that sony closed down studios? Who spearheaded that? What i don't understand is that if you hate Microsoft so much why the concern. If this bothers you so much you may want to find another hobby. Free up some of that mental energy for your own well being and stop worrying about shit you cant change.

Good for them. With AI coming for their jobs and their new corporate overlords working overtime to replace them, it’s a smart move.
It won't be long before Microsoft lays off everyone in gaming and routes that money over into AI.
Time for everyone at Xbox to update the resume and start coming up with Indie game pitches.
The point of unionizing is collective bargaining. Sadly, I do not believe they have any leverage, which is likely why Microsoft isn't impeding them: The investment in AI is gargantuan. We're talking about a data center in Wisconsin that's about 200 city blocks. That is massive and insane.
