I think it's because they're selling/offering BF3 beta keys, which aren't available to anyone.

rabidpancakeburglar5502d ago (Edited 5502d ago )

No it's because of the use of official battlefield 3 pictures as backgrounds. hence the copyright bit

Rearden5502d ago

A lot of sites use official BF3 media -- EA released it for that purpose. The site they shut down also offers hacks for BF3 and tries to sell beta keys.

rabidpancakeburglar5502d ago

There was a story about this earlier saying that EA are targeting the sites using official pictures and offering beta keys is not copyright infringement it's just a falsehood

Rearden5502d ago

The site is selling fake BF3 beta keys and BF3 hacks, despite the fact that the beta nor full game hasn't even been released.

Of course EA is taking it down.

rabidpancakeburglar5502d ago

Who the hell said it wasn't, my point is that they are moving on more than just this site

BubbleSniper5502d ago

these is what happens when you use official Pictures from the official site

And yet though EA legally has the rights, is one company which probably wont be getting attacked by hackers. Isn't this a beautiful place the one we live in?

I don't agree with that. I WISH I could agree with that. But buying habits and customer opinions prove otherwise

We've seen developers in the AAA space try new things and ideas. More often than not, the customers aren't willing to give things a chance, or not enough people buy into the project for it to grow.

Creativity works better in the indie space because the budgets, pressures, and expectations aren't the same.

Scissorman41d ago

it's a nice idea and it worked during the PS2/PS3-era when AAA didn't cost hundreds of millions of dollars. smaller budgets and shorter development time left room for more creativity and more risk. a game didn't need to sell 4 million+ copies to break even. things are different now.

This is the guy who bragged about crunching his staff and having them work through the night. Crunch culture has lost more talent and done more damage to the industry than any other factor. Screw him.
