Todd Howard Talks Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’s Engine Advancements and Skill Streamlining

X360A writes:

"Considering that nearly 5 years has passed since Oblivion graced our consoles, it’s no surprise that Skyrim’s engine is... slightly more advanced, shall we say. At Bethesda’s BFG Showcase, Bethesda Game Studios’ Game Director, Todd Howard took to the stage to talk a bit about the game before demoing it. The game is going to rock I'm sure. The Elder Scrolls is a great game universe to play in and I can't wait to get started on this one.

I just traded in Oblivion but I am certainly interested in seeing more from Skyrim.

I really hope it plays different from the last game in regards to the engine.

You traded to Gamestop? Just curious if you did how much did they take?

MasterD9195563d ago (Edited 5563d ago )

Amazon actually has a trade-in program and gave me about $22 for the GOTY edition...Great deal IMO because I got it for $25 and certainly got my monies worth.

However, Amazon's pricing varies throughout certain times. I think it changes based on demand. Some days you will get more, some days less so act now if its still around that price. Whatever it is on the day you trade it in, thats what you get.

everything looks good

only 1 thing scares me. Seems they dumbed down the sidequests to something of a randomized thing instead of a chcraatcer specific hthing

RedDead5563d ago

Ah!
"And no, there will be no athletic and acrobatic skills this time around either, so no running and jumping across The Shire like a bloody idiot."

So no jumping spell?!? Balls, i loved that about Morrowind

Also, there are random quests and proper sidequests(like the others).....I don't know how the Random ones will play out but I hope bethesda makes them feel different from one another.

they can't get a 14 year old game to run smoothly?

jjb1981211d ago

That's ridiculous, lol. I'm waiting for the guy that says its too cpu-intensive for the Switch 2. This game is old af and has been released like 17 times.
