Battlefield 3: PC vs Consoles

The age-old PC vs. console debate has been a popular topic over the last few weeks, first with the release of Crysis 2 and again with the announcement of Battlefield 3. The original Crysis (a PC exclusive) was and still is a benchmark game, pushing the graphical bar clear out of sight. PC and console gamers both expected a great experience with the multiplatform Crysis 2, and while the finished product looks stunning, it left some PC gamers feeling short-changed.

Just what we need...another one of these articles.

evrfighter5513d ago

ya this is getting tiresome. Console gamers understand that they're living in the past. They accept it.

These kinds of articles need to stop.

id rather have this PC vs consoles dispute fueled again than continue this pathetic 360 v ps3 dispute

:))

Spinal5513d ago

Lol.

<3 my PC anyway. I'm almost certain in 2012 my consoles (all of em) will be obsolete. With Diablo 3, Battlefield 3, Guild Wars 2 and SWTOR!! lool my consoles = dead.

gman_2975513d ago

What's the point of this? DICE has already said the PC version will be superior. We KNOW it'll be superior, but why do we need an article saying "Well, it looks like the PC will win"? Jesus, can't this dude do something else with his time but write pointless articles?

DICE have been spamming the same stuff everyday. People should stop approving it.

"Crysis 2, and while the finished product looks stunning, it left some PC gamers feeling short-changed"
Short changed? No, I just didn't buy it. The simple solution to console ports...

But anyway. The console version won't be hurt at all by how good the PC version is. The differences are going to be graphics, map size/scale/openness and dedicated servers vs p2p.

When logic meets EA it generates anti-matter ..... so try not to apply it in any meaningful way. Entropy is what matters in there !!

cue the apologist saying that these are mostly just contractors hired for this specific project bla bla bla

The community warned them this would happen but nope they knew better they continued with the live service push the made the art style cartoonish and this is the result

It's always so bizarre when studios announce something super early in development under the suggestion of forming the game to player feedback, and then they push against all feedback heading straight for the cliff while everyone is warning them along the way

US Lawmakers Urge Review Of EA Sale

The Congressional Labor Caucus sent a letter to the FTC warning the debt-financed, largely PIF-owned deal could be bad news for workers

lol ya think? they're sending all that work to the cheaper labor market as soon as possible. and FYI, that labor market has exploded in the last 5-10 years. They have enough people to replace every single job. But honestly, EA is over filled with useless upper management as it is. You could probably trim 25% of their staff with no real loss in production. They aren't gamers, they're business execs. Just look at how many AI related jobs they're already starting to post. Its also hilarious that PIF owns Battle field 6

Wait,

The same congress that attacked Lina Khan when she fought the Microsoft Activision purchase.
The same congress that allowed Disney to buy 90% of Fox
The same congress that allowed Liv Golf to buy the PGA
The same congress that sits back while Paramount tries a hostile takeover despite losing the bid for Warner Bros.

NOW, the suddenly cares about doing what's "right" for works? Yeah, right.

No. There were elections and some of the scum were replaced.

Different elections. Different scum. Same results.

i know its a long shot, but i hope this gets shot down.

EA now owned by The Saudis and Ubisoft to inevitably be owned by China. In hindsight, once EA and Ubisoft started having their financial woes, they should have pulled a Koei Tecmo/Bandai Namco by merging their operations into one.
