
Konami has the foundation in place to make future editions of Pro Evolution Soccer succeed on the 3DS. The exclusion of a few modes is a glaring issue, but one that can be excused considering this is a launch title. Thankfully, the action on the pitch is still up to par and there is enough content to keep soccer fans happy in the meantime.

Ahh, football. The beautiful game. Is there any simpler sport? All you need is a ball, and jumpers for goalposts. Unless you’re a top European club, in which case it can get very complicated. You could, say, spend a record £50 million on a new player only to watch him lose to his old team on his debut. And the old team didn’t even need to field their new £22.7m replacement. Ahem.
Thankfully, you don’t need £50 million to enjoy a spot of footie on the go, as Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D will be available on the Nintendo 3DS. The Gaming Vault's Chris Phillips got stuck in.
I wonder how well this will work with online play, depending on the connectivity of the device.
Although I can understand the appeal of a 3D football, PES has been FIFA's lesser cousin for a while now. I can't see that changing on the 3DS.
I'll probably cower and be like "DON'T HIT ME IN THE FACE, SOCCER BALL" if I were to play this in 3D.
