Battlefield 3 official box art deployed

Electronic Arts has released the official Battlefield 3 box art and we have to say it’s not surprising and pretty much follows the exact artwork we’ve witnessed before in Bad Company 2 and previous game promotions.

Wow, looks awfully familiar...

.
No surprise there. That is what EA is all about these days. Find a franchise that is successful and here comes EA saying they are better by coping them. They really are trying to drown out any information about COD BUT here's the thing, Activision hasn't shown a single thing yet. E3 will be the official unveiling and never underestimate Activision.

Still waiting for some console game play. They keep talking about how much better their game engine is and then show some high end PC footage. Crytek always showed off the console version but not many believe them including myself. I've played and completed Crysis 2 and it looks and plays just the way they demoed it. They made a believer out of me. Now, lets see if Dice can do the same.

Max Power5537d ago (Edited 5537d ago )

I believe their game engine is better because it has a lot of destruction, while maintaining larger maps, and graphics that are slightly better, or near par with Call of Duty. (IMO)

DigitalRaptor5537d ago

Shows how much you know. Have you even played any of the previous BATTLEFIELD games?

I can tell you're a new school gamer.

Max Power5537d ago (Edited 5537d ago )

My first Battlefield game was Bad Company 2, I have the Platinum Trophy for it, and I have been gaming since Atari era. So, no I am not a "new school gamer" I am a gamer that just stated his opinion. So I take it you think Call of Duty's game engine is better than Battlefields, thats cool. I just feel with what Dice was able to do (with destruction, map size, player size, and aesthetics) was more impressive than what Treyarch and Infinity Ward was able to do with their game engine.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warefare was the first game I played on my PS3, and I played that pretty extensively, but I didn't buy any of the others because I didn't like the casual direction it started to go. Not to say that Battlefield titles don't have a sense of casualness, its just that I like the squad mentality, and the way the maps were designed better.

Perjoss5537d ago

i like the way the PC version is standing there in the middle like a boss!

Big_Dom5537d ago

What the fuck are you even talking about? It's not even EA that make this game, nor is it EA that produced the artwork. Get fucking clue before talking bollocks, will ye.

EliteAssass1n5537d ago

I've had this picture set as my wallpaper for a while now. I love the colour scheme

@InTheknow
Dude u need to stop trolling on every BF3 article that pops up on this site. If your precious MW3 is as great as you make it out to be, it doesn't need you going around attempting (and failing) to point out why it's so much better. As far as graphics and the cod series goes, DICE has nothing to prove on consoles as even bfbc2 looked better considering how much bigger the maps were + destruction was gong on. The lead platform is PC that's why they are showing that. Crysis 2 was developed on consoles first which is why they showed that footage.

I would have substituted the "E" in Battlefield with 3's. Would have been kinda cool!

superrey195536d ago

For people that don't know, its the same exact pose they used for bfbc2. I don't remember people complaining back then of it copying MW2 so why is this any different? Also please don't show your immature young age and act like MW2 was the first game to feature a soldier walking with gun in hand on the cover.

Kurt Russell5536d ago (Edited 5536d ago )

In my opinion it is copying Operation Wolf from my ZX spectrum... I am disgusted!

DrHouse5537d ago (Edited 5537d ago )

The battlefield art since Bad company, has gotten lame, Its an obvious rip of from the COD4/MW2 box art. The guy it holding the gun in the same hand walking the same way with stuff going on behind him...

And I know what im talking about, I have a 5 foot poster of MW2 sitting next to me.

El-Fenemeno12135537d ago

Thought we knew this? Unless it wasn't official until now. Either way its decent, and won't affect my purchase 8-)

When logic meets EA it generates anti-matter ..... so try not to apply it in any meaningful way. Entropy is what matters in there !!

cue the apologist saying that these are mostly just contractors hired for this specific project bla bla bla

The community warned them this would happen but nope they knew better they continued with the live service push the made the art style cartoonish and this is the result

isarai_lee94d ago

It's always so bizarre when studios announce something super early in development under the suggestion of forming the game to player feedback, and then they push against all feedback heading straight for the cliff while everyone is warning them along the way

US Lawmakers Urge Review Of EA Sale

The Congressional Labor Caucus sent a letter to the FTC warning the debt-financed, largely PIF-owned deal could be bad news for workers

lol ya think? they're sending all that work to the cheaper labor market as soon as possible. and FYI, that labor market has exploded in the last 5-10 years. They have enough people to replace every single job. But honestly, EA is over filled with useless upper management as it is. You could probably trim 25% of their staff with no real loss in production. They aren't gamers, they're business execs. Just look at how many AI related jobs they're already starting to post. Its also hilarious that PIF owns Battle field 6

Wait,

The same congress that attacked Lina Khan when she fought the Microsoft Activision purchase.
The same congress that allowed Disney to buy 90% of Fox
The same congress that allowed Liv Golf to buy the PGA
The same congress that sits back while Paramount tries a hostile takeover despite losing the bid for Warner Bros.

NOW, the suddenly cares about doing what's "right" for works? Yeah, right.

No. There were elections and some of the scum were replaced.

Different elections. Different scum. Same results.

i know its a long shot, but i hope this gets shot down.

EA now owned by The Saudis and Ubisoft to inevitably be owned by China. In hindsight, once EA and Ubisoft started having their financial woes, they should have pulled a Koei Tecmo/Bandai Namco by merging their operations into one.
