Wasn't this supposed to be better than gran turismo and forza?

aviator1895514d ago

Haha, they did say this would be the most realistic sim on the market or something like that.

Well, looks like...that didn't go as planned.

Objective5514d ago

Haha, since you guys wanna talk this way, haha well GT5 was supposed to surpass the all mighty Forza, haha, I guess the review scores show that the plan didn't go accordingly haha...

iamgoatman5514d ago

They said the exact same thing when the original Shift released, and we all know how that turned out.

I remember seeing the guy who made those initial statements for the game on VirtualR.net, he was just a know nothing PR tool, had no idea what he was talking about and kept repeating the same old mantra over and over that NFS Shift was the most realistic racer ever. Looks like they let him do the PR again, not a good idea.

Hey guys, give the game chance for reviewers to give different scores later, its still early days! Remember how Grann Turismo 5 started getting better review scores after a month or two?
Maybe in a months time, NFS:Shift will score a very very high FOUR out of TEN LOOOOOOL!!

They really thought they could surpass the all mighty GT5?
'The fuck outta here. >:|

upturned25514d ago

HAHAHAHA

you speak teh truth, my man.

ShinFuYux5514d ago

So, they gave it a bad score because of its authenticity and unpredictable driving? Has this reviewer ever played any of the other SIM racers? Good lord, he seems to be praising the game in the review and then he whines how "you have to keep adjusting the car's spec to get it running good".

Please, gamestop, fire this idiot.

soundslike5514d ago

Yep, because oversteering in a FF car TOTALLY makes sense.

iistuii5514d ago

I for one am enjoying it. It looks good plays really well an the helmet cam is cool. I'm glad it's nothing like the sims they're on about above, it more reminds me of a PGR/Grid type of racer and thats more my type of game. 7.5 good is fine anyway, but I'd give it at least an 8 like the majority of reviews I've seen.

upturned25514d ago (Edited 5514d ago )

And that's what it should be compared to. It was never meant to be a sim. It's just a better simulator, if you want to call it that, than the first Shift. Not that it's a bad racing game.

Can you take the dissociating camera effects off?

oneangle5514d ago

Does anybody know how compatible this is with a steering wheel? I've read a few user reviews/comments and they weren't good.

When logic meets EA it generates anti-matter ..... so try not to apply it in any meaningful way. Entropy is what matters in there !!

cue the apologist saying that these are mostly just contractors hired for this specific project bla bla bla

The community warned them this would happen but nope they knew better they continued with the live service push the made the art style cartoonish and this is the result

isarai_lee69d ago

It's always so bizarre when studios announce something super early in development under the suggestion of forming the game to player feedback, and then they push against all feedback heading straight for the cliff while everyone is warning them along the way

US Lawmakers Urge Review Of EA Sale

The Congressional Labor Caucus sent a letter to the FTC warning the debt-financed, largely PIF-owned deal could be bad news for workers

lol ya think? they're sending all that work to the cheaper labor market as soon as possible. and FYI, that labor market has exploded in the last 5-10 years. They have enough people to replace every single job. But honestly, EA is over filled with useless upper management as it is. You could probably trim 25% of their staff with no real loss in production. They aren't gamers, they're business execs. Just look at how many AI related jobs they're already starting to post. Its also hilarious that PIF owns Battle field 6

Wait,

The same congress that attacked Lina Khan when she fought the Microsoft Activision purchase.
The same congress that allowed Disney to buy 90% of Fox
The same congress that allowed Liv Golf to buy the PGA
The same congress that sits back while Paramount tries a hostile takeover despite losing the bid for Warner Bros.

NOW, the suddenly cares about doing what's "right" for works? Yeah, right.

No. There were elections and some of the scum were replaced.

Different elections. Different scum. Same results.

i know its a long shot, but i hope this gets shot down.

EA now owned by The Saudis and Ubisoft to inevitably be owned by China. In hindsight, once EA and Ubisoft started having their financial woes, they should have pulled a Koei Tecmo/Bandai Namco by merging their operations into one.
